I am supposed to be doing a 3 day ftx at pocahontas state park that is tentatively set for that date. If that date is moved, I may be able to make it out with you guys. If not, then I'll have to do it at a later date. I have a group coming from California to teach animal rescue and disaster response related to animals so I have to make that class.

Any idea how far that is from the Cherry Beasley Readiness Center (Winchester National Guard Armory)?

I'm game, that weekend is good for me.

I think in order to do any Survival Skill talks we need to plan it for a specific time. Ideally they'd be 5 minutes or so a piece, that way we can get a few different subjects covered by a few different people. I'll be willing to do one on Stoicism...

Or something else.
Does your BOB at least have: water, basic tools, fire, food, first-aid kit, and shelter?

The Cove is about 30 minutes west or so of the Armory.

Humm, not to disagree, but if someone is going to give a discussion or presentation on a skill that they are a SME. It better be more then five min and should incorporate some hands on skill learning. If want a 5min high level overview I have the internet....

Regretfully, the dates dont work very well for me. May 20-22 is my weekend to work. So, I'll have to pass. :(

They have you working both event weekends? That sucks, and in the words of Dr. Dre, "Man, f' da po-lice."

So far looks like I can make it, as the date gets closer I may have to adjust something but I should be good. I'll try to find a doggie/pig sitter and bring the wife

Fuckin' WORD yo!

My attendance will depend if my March "vacation" will be approved as FMLA. If I get to use my sick leave, then I might ask for weekend off in May. If FMLA declined, I simply wont have any vacation time left. But April hike is out of the question. I just dont want to screw my boss again... he'll be working my shift for two weeks while I'm in Russia. He's a really cool dude, and I dont want to abuse his good graces.

What caliber and types of weapons are we allowed to shoot at the camp and shoot?

Side Note: Russia? What part?
