Idaho Chapter

Postby Necronos » Sat Jan 30, 2010 7:09 pm

Is there any interest amongst the Idaho members to start our own chapter?

I'm situated in Eastern Idaho and have a few people in my area that are interested in this kind of thing that will join up with ZS and help with a chapter formation. I'd like to hear from anyone in Idaho who is interested in stepping up and becoming officially a chapter.

I'm not sure how the Northern Idaho folks feel so I'd like to hear from you guys too.

Just an update on where the Idaho's wannabe chapter is at.

We have 3 people, myself included, that are officially ZS members. We have about 4 others who are interested in ZS and forming a chapter here in Idaho. Currently we are all located in Idaho Falls. We have been getting together ever 3-4 weeks formally, but since most of us work together this has been a pretty active topic. We are all preppers and ready to become a real chapter, just as soon as we figure out what charity even to do.

I'm the only one active on the forums, so while it might appear that Idaho is dead quite, we are still moving and shaking.

Good to meet you, Necronos!
I’ve asked a few times about starting an Idaho chapter with little success.
I would like to meet other preppers in my area but the response is a little sparse.
As a 3rd generation native Idahoan (I’m 49), I think this is a pretty normal response, as folks here are wary of “strangers” and tend to keep to themselves.
Transplants on the other hand tend to be pretty social and outgoing and make a point of asking each other “What part of California are you from?”

Good luck and good (zombie) hunting to you!

Count me in. Formerly from 005 in Western WA, but feel a bit out of the loop over here in the TV area. Just moved here a couple months ago, but would love to see our own chapter start =)

There was a push to get an Inland NW chapter started awhile back but there were only a few people trying. The effort petered out and IIRC the thread was locked?

Davin, not Spirit Lake but I'm in your general area.

Not sure what may have become of the other northern and eastern Idahoans in this thread and starting a chapter, but I got involved the past few months with a group that is still actively working on becoming a SW ID ZS Chapter. The southern and northern halves of the State seem a little more separated geographically than most other states to me, but I don't see why it shouldn't be more inclusive...I'm from Boise, BTW, and most of the members that I know personally are from the Treasure Valley so far.
