I wish I'd had a clearer direction when I started (and now am too deep to bother starting over). I've ended up an archer/thief/armor&weapon making fool, but could be better at all of those if I hadn't squandered about a dozen level up points on some bullshit magic stuff I was experimenting with.

I've decided to join the stormcloaks. I think both the empire and SC's are douchey, but I hate the empire more (Starwar's fault  ). I'm also on a mission to find a better house than Whiterun just because.

The only thing I hate about this game is that I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere! I get 10 new quests for every one I finish. Shit, just trying to escort some broad to a town down the road landed me 3 quests from asshats jumping me along the way and having to pass by a mine.

I'm on pc, and I do have to say that it is the most beautiful environment in any game I've seen. The night sky gets me every time.
Hearthfire DLC. Best houses.

I always sided with the empire. The loss of skyrim would weaken the empire for their next war with the dominion, and skyrim itself would be conquered.

No way, Imperial colonialism is nothing more than theft through force. The people of Skyrim have every right to rule themselves with out the interference of a Paternalistic empire.

I dunked a bitch's head in a bucket of ice water one time when she was OD-ing on Xanax. Worked great, but there was a LOT of paperwork afterward.

Skyrim is wealthier and far more stable than they would be as an independent kingdom, and Ulfric is a murderer who only cares about himself. His unwinnable rebellion causes nothing but suffering for his people and saps Imperial forces from checking any moves from the elves.

Your choices are the empire, or eventual genocide.

I need to stop playing this game.

This is why you let both sides wipe out the other, every battle turns a profit for you!

I've gone both sides, the Nords are a bunch of racist assholes and the Imperials are a bunch of colonial assholes.

That being said, Imperials have the better look

I played a stormcloak assassin nord badass character as my main playthrough- I think I'm Level 60 now with 300 hours on that character- and I can take down a dragon with a single crossbow bolt.

Some of my other characters are elves or argonians who stay neutral and don't side with either faction- but for me, the Imperials wanting to chop off my head just because I happened to be along for a cart ride, and the torture chamber in Helgen made the Empire my enemy from the start of the game.

I'm lately trying to really roleplay my latest character- a wood elf ranger who hunts and mines for a living, making and selling leather armor and items, rarely fast traveling, and staying in one region until most of the quests are completed.

Can't judge an entire Nation on something like that.

It was enough to create a grudge. Bear in mind I had several imperial-loyal characters throughout Morrowind and Oblivion- but 200 years later the Empire lacks the glory and righteousness it once had- it is in decline, and well, Skyrim belongs to the Nords anyway :awesome:

I propose a different paradigm. The Empire can ASK Skyrim for help with what will become a common foe. By stopping its Rampant advances and land grabs it can focus its energies on one enemy and have a Friend ( Ok possibly not friend but ally) to help with that. The empire is pulling a very Romanesque maneuver by grabbing more than it can hold onto, like a gluttonous fatman at a feast he may choke if he tries to shovel to much in.

I made an Argonian vampire who literally has no quests in the que(ok just the one to go to riverwood). As a stage 4 vampire I'm immune to poison, paralysis and I get bonuses to many skills. I can breathe underwater and the histskin ability with the lady stone allows for very fast regen. The lady stone allows for regen as a vampire anyway. I don't do quests and I roam the countryside killing anyone who attacks me. Most wandering cat people won't attack and will trade.

Land grab? Skyrim has been a part of the empire for centuries. You are also making the mistake that all of skyrim wishes to be independent of the empire when it seems to be half.

Well I have the pleasure of starting a new game here in a few short weeks, going to be able to run it graphics maxed out and with all the DLC I can get my hands on.

This might be bad for my sleeping habits.

I went stormcloaks for the same reason as AK. The ones that tried to kill me first make first enemies. If this game played out properly, you'd be able to take over the stormcloaks as their leader since you fucking George Washington'd the shit out of everything for Ulfric.

I've been meh about the new console releases and feel that any upgrading by me will be on pc and with a new tv to play on.

Maybe I just couldn't support the Stormcloaks because I wasn't a Nord. Hard to talk about Skyrim remaining pure when your a Dunmer or Orsimer.

I went with the Empire so that I could betray them to the Stormcloaks, because as a barb wedged deep into my enemies flesh I could do more damage then as a sword glancing off their armor.

I'm super excited about my first actual computer that's not a laptop. A few of my computer geek buddies helped me pick out all the components and say ill be able to run almost any game maxed out with out a problem.

Watch the politics!! Unless you're a Stormcloak, then you have all the rights in Skyrim to talk politics.

I'm going to play an Argonian next. Judging by how the Stormcloaks treat them it should be fitting.

I like ranged (mage should be sweet) and have been doing archer. Something about 1 shot stealth kills from a distance... mmmmm

I let my house wench take the beatings while I pick off the baddies from a distance. If they get close, I've crafted some dick stomping fire axes that get the job done. Or just fire-yell at them.

What's everyone's favorite shout? I've been using fire, but honestly don't use any of them very much.
