I can't wait, it's already a given that I'm going to buy it, now they just have to tell us whether or not the Special Edition is worth buying.

It does look incredibly awesome. Unless the release date changes, this game will most likely be my birthday present to myself. :)

Looks Cool. Aren't they dropping the "Call of duty" and just calling it Modern warfare 2?

Looks cool. I sure hope they don't include vehicles in multi-player though. Recon mode sounds bad ass. I wish they would have kept the milti-player online campaign like in WAW
Thanks Anianna!

A somewhat complete weapons list...

http://forums.infinityward.com/viewtopi ... 74&start=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

LOTS to choose from. Neat that there are more then 2 shotguns to choose from and a lot accessories to use.

Sweet, the P-90 was the fucking heat in COD4 glad to see it return.

Already have my collectors edition paid for at Game Stop. I have never been to a midnight release of a video game before but I forsee picking this one up. (I work nights a few miles from game stop, so I'll just run down there at midnight)

Can the OP please change the name of the thread from Call of Duty 4 to 6

No zombies from Infinity Ward but I'm sure someone will mod multiplayer, they already did for COD4. But the new one will have 2 player co-op, seperate from the story called 'Special Forces' mode:
http://www.destructoid.com/infinity-war ... 7206.phtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Infinity Ward isn't known for its co-op campaigns, and Modern Warfare 2 will be no exception. Despite lacking a co-op story, there will be a new two-player mode known as "Special Ops," which is designed to be infinitely replayable. The fact of the matter is, Infinity Ward doesn't believe in putting co-op into a main story campaign.

"We don’t do co-op in our story because we’re crafting a very specific experience and we don’t want to ruin that by cramming co-op into it," offers IW's Robert Bowling. "We take the moments that work really well with co-op, we bring them out and we put them in Special Ops.

"Story’s all about pacing. Sometimes moments get toned down because they don’t fit with the pacing of the experience you’re trying to deliver. There (in Special Ops) it’s all about fun. It’s about playing over and over again, getting a better time -- you’ll have a time at the end of it -- it’s about challenging a friend going in on co-op and trying to beat it on veteran."

Bowling also explains why Special Ops will be two-player and not four-player: "Two player seemed to be the magic number for co-op. That’s when it stayed really fun and intense without becoming a clusterf**k of things. We just found that two-players was the most fun."

On the subject of co-op in a story campaign, I definitely agree with Bowling. It's become very chic to cram co-op into everything, but when you've got a headset on or are worrying about another player's status, it becomes difficult to follow the actual story. I really hope single-player games are hear to stay, because it could seriously kill the idea of games as a storytelling medium if co-op is forced into everything.

Interesting info about Multiplayer (from IGN.com)

Create a Character as well as Create a Class.
RPG style level ups. For example holding your breath while sniping will give you iron lungs if done enough times. Sprinting grants you Endurance perk.
Armor and clothing grants you other perks such as Juggernaut and Bomb squad.
Physical Perks and Combat Perks separated by the actions required to advance in said category.
Wider range in customization with weapons and equipment.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 = Call of Duty 4+Rainbow Six Vegas+Elder Scrolls Morrowind

Should be interesting :D

Just a heads up. No concrete word on how many prestige editions will be available. I dunno how long I'd wait. So I didn't. $25.00 minimum to reserve.

...So interesting news, for multiplayer you can now customize what your killstreaks equal, also for your killstreak you can access a low flying AC130 gunship and man the guns. Also fortunately someone else can also tag your AC130 with a heat seeker.

The killstreak rewards are terrible in MW and can make the some maps unplayable in WaW, I hope they do something different this time. I'd much rather have more things like the radar that can give you an edge without indiscriminately killing random people.

Either way, most likely be picking this up for PC should be a good time.

Some advice I gave to a friend of mine wondering about the NVG's in the Prestige edition was, "Reserve the prestige, pay for it in full, and if you don't want to waste money on them, wait a couple of days and listen for some reviews before you pick it up."

If it's paid in full, Gamestop will hold it indefinately. Partially paid for 72 hours. Anytime after that and it's up for grabs.
