A lot of Patrol Officers I meet with still use closed top magazine holders. Coincidently enough, the officers that I most often see with open top mag holders are the ones that still carry 1911's. So they have 2x2's.

OK this is what I have assembled so far.

ATS War belt with the ATS insert

Triple M4/Triple magazine pouch next to it is a Leatherman in a single mag pouch
Image
Sig Sauer P226 .40 S&W w/Streamline TR-1 and Blade-tech Tactical light holster w/DOH SR Loop

I am going to add another double mag pouch, a FAK, a dump pouch. I might add a fixed knife of some type and maybe double or triple M4 pouch. I want to watch the weight so that it is wearable for several hours at a time.

I was really surprised at the Blade_Tech, the draw from it is so smooth and I think faster than my usual holsters, can't wait to try it at the range. While this holster has no retention it's going to be used at the range, matches and training so generally in those environments retention for security is not that big of a concern compared to walking downtown. I did do some in place running and it didn't fall out..

I'm not seeing any spare mags for the pistol, nor a canteen. Even for range use, I'd think you'd get thirsty, if not being out long enough to get hungry. I realize this isn't supposed to be a Bug Out Belt, so things I might put on there wouldn't really be appropriate. Have you considered a drop leg platform for the dump pouch? It might save some belt space, and end up being more ergonomic for you, but YMMV on that one.

I think the pistol mags are strapped directly in front of the rifle magazines. As far as water goes, he is from Arizona, they're used to no water. ( )

When at the range I have my Camelback (3L) on me, my Nalgenes in my stage bag and the ice chest in the truck.

If I know I am going to be there for a substantial time I'll have like two other bladders in the ice chest so I can just swap them out. Generally you can't carry to much water with you in the desert

I think I will look into mounting the dump pouch on some kind of drop configuration, maybe below the M4 mags might be a good place

Found out today while using it at the range I will defiantly need a dump pouch as it covers my pants pockets. Going to go with the Rollypoly but would like to drop it down about 2.5 inches below the belt. Any ideas how?

Personally, I really dig the TT dump pouch, and I would put it right in front of your rifle mags on your belt. The TT pouch holds open with the plastic stiffener, but nothing falls out with the elastic. I have one on my armor rig and another on my unarmored rig, and they have never let me down, unlike other brand's dump pouches. Great gear, found here...

Not sure if this is compatible with the Rolypoly for sure, it seems like it might work. http://cgi.ebay.com/Leg-Rig-Drop-Leg-Ho ... 3a5c2b332e

I have my dump pouch on the left side of my War Belt, basically between my hip and my ass cheek. Stays out of the way till I need it, and mine is Multicam, which means its even more tactical than other colors.

I don't like how much dump pouches hung off the belt want to swing around.

While the lids on the ATS Triple/Triple pistol pockets are removable (and adjustable for height), they can also be tucked inside the pocket. It'll increase the tension on the magazine which will make it a little harder to withdraw, but many times that's a desirable feature.

KnightoftheRoc, it may be time for an ophthalmologist appointment; that's Ranger Green.  I kid simply because I'll be at my local eye cutter within the month getting cataract surgery.

REALLY? Man, the monitor at work makes it look like a brown! Either that, or I'm getting cataracts!

Hope its not the cataracts, brother. That's no fun!

Monitors, even from the same vendor, can show colors differently, sometimes VERY differently.
