Would happen to have a pic or a name brand we can look up? Some boots have molded soles and those, generally, cannot be resold. There are a bunch of tutorials on the web that show how to extend the life of old molded sole boots though.

Don't know anything about them, but they popped up first in the Google search.

Have you taken them to a cobbler to see what they have to say about the matter?

Right off the bat I'd say no on them kind of jungle boots.

But... Macon's link looks like something to look at and Exploriment makes a great suggestion too. Take them to a shoe repair shop... something we all should do before buying new boots... and see what they have to say about it.

IN GENERAL:

Boots like this can be recrafted or re soled.

I have seen recraftable boots not be recraftable though and I've seen welded soles get repaired by a spectrum of elbow-grease, ingenuity, and products though. The general rule above applies though.

Hey not sure if you have gone to the Cobbler yet but yes those can be done! I have had mine redone with the Vibram soles that are more like the early Vietnam sole!
