Re: XMas gift loots!
One of the things on my wishlist was a 24 pack of CR123s but I guess I gotta just go buy them like all the rest of the chumps out there
That's good you got to have dinner with all the kids and grandkids. Sometimes it's hard for families to get together in one place to do so. I have a cousin and her new husband that could not be in Oregon this year and I was kind of bummed.
Gifts I gave this year, and I am so glad to be able to do so:
Becker Necker and BKT-2 knife to my brother in law. He's a rafter and does not have a good knife (or 2) nor does he know much about "good knives". I got him those.
My other brother in law got some UofO Ducks coasters, trivit, and pint glasses all signed (and sealed) by the current UofO roster... well, most of them. I have some connections down there and was able to get that. He went there on a wrestling scholarship in the early 90s.
Wife got some Godzilla slippers and I also got her her first pair of quality fashion boots. I keep telling her to stop wasting money on cheap fashion boots and buy nice ones. She's never splurged on herself like this so knows nothing of a good pair boots - fashionable or otherwise. They are her style and fit her perfect. She thinks they are very sexy too. For stocking stuffers I got her pepper spray and bungee cords
Sorry, some of the above not "gear" related.

I'm breaking in my Keens right now at the office. They don't need much and some say none at all but I think one should break in any footwear before you go out and use it for reals.
Suffice to say the few days at the office between Xmas and NYs is pretty slow. Hiking boots are OK at work.

I scored a food dehydrator and a food saver! Guess who is taking home made MRE's to a whole nouther level?

Upon reading one of my posts you should assume that before I post I reread my posts twice and then often again after I post to check and recheck for spelling and grammatical errors. And I still miss most of them because, as it turns out, when you are home-schooled, you are only as smart as your mom.

Gave the GF a pair of Merrell Moab Ventilators
so she has some kind of freaking footwear suited to outside. She was pretty stoked to get some decent hiking shoes, which made me happy.

sweet suprise under the tree yesterday.
Well, Christmas was good to me this year, but my daughters were even better. One gave me a Coleman mummy bag rated to 15 degrees, and the other gave me a 5.11 RUSH 72 bag,and it was in lovely coyote brown. The best part of this little tale is after telling her she she should not have spent so much on a gift for me, she informed me that it was only $60.00,and with her employee discount, she only paid $45.00. Sweet! there is a Santa!

Re: XMas gift loots!
Gave out a lot of Darn Tough socks, a pair of Howard Impacts, an AR receiver to my wife, couple D/H AR mags to a friend, a galco kingtuk for the wife, and an ALG QMS trigger for my brother.
I received about 400 dollars in gift cards for the LGS, and a Kershaw blur. Going to buy (most of) a Glock 19 with the gift cards to replace my carry piece. bought a second kingtuk for myself since I'm wrong handed.
Still have another christmas tomorrow, so might be bringing home some more goodies.

Every Christmas it seems that my gifts have a theme, last year it was all firearm accessories, this year, all edged tools. I got a Mora Robust, a Leatherman Wave, and a True Temper Kelly Perfect double bit axe head.
