I've gone through 2 pairs of the tfxs in the last 10 months. Granted, I wear them for 10 hours a day, but the inside heel area wears out way too fast and then exposes a sharp piece of plastic which tears up your heel. I will not be buying another pair. I've also noticed that in these boots, athlete's foot flare ups are more common than with other boots. They don't even feel like real Danners, save your money. Oh, and the ATACS version is repulsive.

Im looking for a military stlye boot ( black, leather, 8-10 inch) thats good for total ZPAW but damn comfortable for hiking as well. somthing that will keep me dry and cool in the summer and warm and dry in the winter. Waterproof isnt a nessisty becuae im looking into merion wool socks with a wicking liner underneath.
oh and under 400 bucks...do any of the Danner Mil boots fit that description? Im not set on danner, but have heard nothing but good things about them.
I really only hike once every 1-2 months, but want to get out more and go farther and harder...plus if they're built to survive combat/paw/shtf then a few backpacking trips should be nothing right?![]()
Right now heres what i wear to school a few day out of the week and when i go into the woods: Cocorran 10 inch combat boots:

I love them...but they always give me blisters on my heels. although thats probably becuase they're a half a size too big and i dont wear the right sock combo...

All of them have copious pics. Most are barely used. You can't find sage goretex boots for less than $100-$150. These specific boots new are like $175 I think. Great for extra boots. Or a cheap addition to your prepper stuff.
