Goretex size question

Postby 0122358 » Wed May 30, 2012 1:07 am

so ive been shopping around on amazon and ebay for a usgi woodland goretex parka and ive found a few. But im confused on what size to get. I wear a size medium t-shirt and the medium regular BDU top fits perfectly.

so when it comes to the ecws parka...should i get the medium reg or large reg? Ive heard that to account for layering, to get a size larger. help?

They are sized pretty accurately IMO. If you wear a medium size BDU/ACU top the medium gore tex jacket will fit just fine with a fleece or whatever under it. If you are going to the arctic and wanted to wear a big down jacket underneath order a size larger but otherwise you should be fine.

Same as the first response.
You are pretty much safe with Goretex sizes.

The only issue with the one I got years ago was the sleeves ran really short on mine and I passed it on to my dad when I got tired of it. I guess it's not a big deal if you wear medium-short or medium-regular BDU, but I wore medium-long, so the sleeves would be halfway up my arm if I raised my arms any higher than keyboard level. They make long sizes, if it's an issue, but they're harder to find.

If med/reg cammies fit you fine, a med/red goretex should fit just as well.

1st gen goretex is a bit snugger than than Gen2/Gen3/APECS, just like wooldland BDU's were snugger than MARPAT cammies and ACU's.
