I sent that exact same model Becker to a buddy of mine when he was in Iraq back in '04. He loved it. He said it was "a pry bar that you could cut shit with".

My ZT Urban Bone machete finally came in. I think I'm gonna put one or two rubber cold-shrinks on the handle to fatten it up a bit.

The kydex sheath is nice, easy to draw or replace it from and retains the machete well, but it has no belt attachments to it. Just the grommets for lashing it. That's something I'll have to modify.

My custom knife made by Justin Gingrich of ranger knives. I've been using it constantly all deployment and honestly could not ask for more in a knife, not to mention being a 1/4" piece of 5160 it makes a great pry bar when the need arises  .

I don't have my own picture due to lack of a camera but I hope a stock image that is close will work!

It's got a 4.5 inch blade, some kind of poly plastic handle that's tough as nails, but no sheath. I still have to make one for it. I use this as my hunting/fishing/camping/cooking at home knife. Can't get much more utilitarian than that

First post, my EDC setup.

Post by usarmynate » Mon Jan 16, 2012 2:07 pm

I just recently found these forums, and loved reading this thread, so I thought I'd post my EDC kit.

Image

From top to bottom:

CRKT First Strike, a gift from a buddy in Iraq that I have abused pretty well
2AA Mag-lite for those small dark spots, Gerber multi-tool because the army has issued me around 100 of them
Dozier Designs Kabar Phat boy, just added to my kit, replacing a small Gerber gator
and the little Gerber knife, just to pick my nails.

The butcher knife has an inscription that says "Regent Cutlery," and then underneath that it says "HIGH CARBON - MADE IN COLUMBIA". I bought it at a yard sale for five bucks last September, and I still haven't properly sharpened it.

The pocket knife is an old Camillus that was also purchased for five dollars, totally worth it, I love this thing.

I plan on replacing the Paraframe with a Sanremnu 710, or maybe an Enlan 701.

Becker BK9 Pawn shop find
Original version made by Camillus before they bellied-up
It is a little thicker than the current model made by KaBar

Haven't got it out to use yet, but looks like all win so far.

I just had a moment of weakness and ordered a Bark River Knives, Mike Stewert Custom Drop Point Hunter. I will be running to the mailbox everyday like a little kid at Christmas until it gets here! :D

My uncle out in Tucson makes some pretty cool knives.
Not much for marketing though but here's a link to his Facebook album: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 250&type=3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here's my stainless steal Mora. Added a neck lanyard to it also. Ive also added a small loop on the sheath to help retain the blade from slipping out.
