New From Condor

Post by Turtlewolf » Mon Jan 23, 2012 5:07 pm

Seriously go check them out!
2012 is a good year if you like Condor knives and machetes!
A new Golok knife and Village Parang that make this old hatchet/tomahawk junkie rethink his tool set.
I have no affiliation with Condor.

Saw the picture on the Condor website, doesn't look that special. The Warlock Machete and Dundee Bowie look interesting. I have a Condor Golok Machete, light-years beyond anything produced by Gerber or Cold Steel.

Condor makes inexpensive knives that are decent quality no matter what the year.

Can't say I'm familiar with this name so I'll figure it's another of those "survival expert idiots" like all the others. If I'm wrong and he is decent please don't be upset by my oppinions.

Also read the quotations

This is a real Woodlore, now do you see what I mean

Mind you, Condor's Parang (no matter what they call it) looks halfway decent

Well that used up the only 5 minutes I'll allow for such things, I'm not interested enough to pursue the topic further so must relegate Ray mears to the hall of jackholes and idiots with all the other self styled experts that have crawled out of thier holes in the last few years to scrounge the survival market and exploit idiots.
cheers

Ray Mears has been around for a while in the UK. He is actually pretty good and has the most soothing voice ever. He provides a nice counterpoint to the screaming EOTWAWKI survival guys.

All I was saying (in an attempt at humour ) was calling a knife a woodlaw is getting very close to infringement of IP to wit Woodlore.

Its not my fault that you've never heard of a guy whos been teaching bushcraft since 1983.

BG he ain't

I don't know why you're taking this persoanly, or seem to be. I get the humor and should have said that but seriously my oppinions about the retards teaching "bushcraft" and exploiting people have little or nothing to do with you. BG simply found a more funny way of getting his peice of the pie, something tells me in real life he probably isn't the idiot he seems on TV.
The simple truth is it dosen't matter if it is Ray Mears, Ron Hood or Less Stroud I think they are all retards and have little to no use for them and never have. It is a personal oppinion made by my own research and drawn on my own experiences and life.
If you are someone that teaches so called survival then I understand why you would be insulted that my take on ALL such so called self styled experts are idiots but if not then my oppinion has nothing to do with you.
I agree with you that the new parang looks pretty good.
Are you actualy allowed to own such tools in your neck of the woods?
Oh, if I have some how insulted you in some other way I am sorry because I'm pretty sure it wasn't ment.

How about we agree to differ on the bit I didn't quote, you have an opinion and I have a different one.
I didn't take offence and am sorry if what I wrote seemed otherwise...... I must remember that there is no tone of voice on the computer screen

We are allowed to own some good toys, there are also quite a few that we can't and there doesn't seem to be many hard and fast rules over what is OK and what isn't.(example. can't sell, buy or import a sword with a curved blade that is not an antique or made using traditional Japanese sword-smithing techniques unless you will be using it to take part in an activity that requires Public Liability Insurance. )
Not allowed weapons at all.... with 'weapon' being defined by context as much as form or function.
Can't say much more without straying into politics.

Lets get back to the blade p0rn :D
