Sharp Finger knife - another gift

Postby JoeTosco » Fri Apr 29, 2011 5:41 am

Well, it happened again, got another knife from Jean Callegari, the knifemaker that forged my bowie.

It was a gift, the second custom knife I get for free, this can be a hobbie itself. :D

Anyway, the design is a classic from the old west, kind of a bushcraft knife from the old days, this one being made from a suspension spring from a VW bus, the handle being celeron and the sheath in leather.

Jean is specialized on fine sharpening, because his hobbie is shaving with old blades, and he said that with this knife he got to 13.000 grain stone and finished with a japanese polishing stone, so yout can imagine how sharp it is...

Now that looks awesome, almost perfect angle for a skinning/hunting knife. I look forward to your review.
Cheers

Looks good! I collect knives but I've never owned a custom made one, unless you count a lawnmower blade I put on the grinder. When I read the title I thought you was talking about the deer skinning knife called "sharp finger" old timer makes it I had mine about 12 years.
