Slingshot Beauty Contest - Be a Juror and Win a Cougar!

Post by JoergS » Sun Jun 13, 2010 3:45 pm

I made a total of six slingshots in my "Beauty" line.

I want to find out the most popular style, so I am conducting a weeklong inquiry.

If you want to have a chance to win a "Limited Edition Cougar", just leave your vote as a comment to this video:

Thanks!

Personally I prefer the Cougar actually...

If I had too pick one from the video it would be #1 for sure.

Im very simplistic and see beauty in the simple, not much for flash :)

If you send me a cougar Ill give it a full review and add it to my Bug out bag :)

Sadly, Im not a 'member' of youtube, and dont ever plan on being one...

They were all great. I think the laminate one is a great balance of the simple beauty, with the 4 different kinds of woods giving it a great twist. The over the top cocobolo was a close second though.

+1 would look very nice with antique bronze instead of SS.

I voted #1. I love how simple it is, and I love the contrast between that particular wood and metal combination. Plus it sounds cool to say you have an iron wood sling shot.

I voted for the Desert Ironwood too. My buddy CDAT and I looked over each one and we both agreed on the looks of the Ironwood. Design wise, No. 6's method of attachment looked the best but we wondered if the hand grip would fit all users since we each have such different size hands. I have smaller girlish hands  while he has larger hands. Either way we liked the ironwood's appearance best. 8)

#5, Bronze and Wood, without a doubt. It's gorgeous.

I will vote on Youtube as soon as Youtube decides to let me reset my password.

Dang skippy! The Bronze and Wood is a beaut! All those votes for the Desert Ironwood were getting me worried, even though it was my second favorite.

Desert Ironwood vs. Bronze and Wood is the new Cake vs. Pie.

Agreed.

The only criticism I could make, and it is with the utmost respect, is that I would like to see one kind of wood on the bronze/wood compass model. I know this may be the exact feature some people enjoy, but I like the look of all matching wood. I think if it were all the lighter colored wood (birch especially, or bird's eye maple) it would look awesome.

Also not as a critique, but as a preference, I like silver/iron/chrome colored metal more than gold/bronze/copper colored metals.

Can't buy these beauties, sorry... how could I part with them? :-)

And I did not have matching wood for the compass one... bought a very inexpensive sample set of exotic wood "pen blanks". So I used what I had.

I just want a cougar... but after reading on the internet, seems all the ones from China are made of a Zinc Alloy that breaks and blinds people.... yet another reason not to buy anything from China, Zinc, Lead... is Stainless Steel really that hard to find? :P

I like #4 and #6, although I have an utmost appreciation for the humble plywood. I like #6 for the clamps and hand formed grip, but for some reason that cocobolo catches my interest.

my choice: #4

hahahaha! Couldn't resist the numbers, right?

The food is good. But I prefer Paraíso(paradise), in front of it.

Very decent prices, and HUGE portions.

Unfortunately they don't have a website. :(
