The pandemic had kept me away from my normal target archery addiction, so my mind is free to wander. A dangerous thing. I've been playing with an idea to improve on the age old atlatl. My thought is to use a Swiss arrow style string tether attached to a lever arm, with the center of the arrow resting on a cradle at the moving end of the lever. The purpose is to reduce the severity of the paradox that occurs from acceleration the dart from the back, and eliminate the need for a banner stove to balance the dart in a ready position.
Is there any sort of historic precedent for this, or an I just too bored for my own good?

I've sen videos on a Swiss arrow and throwing lever. Check the web, I saw one on this over at Survival Monkey site.
