Marines from Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, along with Afghan National Security Forces, descended on the small town of Sabzikar to root out and eliminate insurgents operating in the area during Operation Reservoir Dogs, May 1.
In the early morning darkness, MV-22 Ospreys dropped the Marines and ANSF into an open field. From there, they silently moved to their first objective to establish a base of operations before conducting the sweep of the town.

A recent example is Operation Speargun, a raid overseen by Regimental Combat Team 6, which commands combat operations in northern Helmand. Marines with 1/8’s Alpha and Charlie companies were inserted by helicopter before dawn March 25 in Urmuz, a village in southern Now Zad district involved in processing narcotics. Marine M1A1 Abrams tanks with Alpha Company, 1st Tank Battalion, provided intimidation and long-range optics, and personnel in Marine helicopters provided regular overwatch, Marines said.
There should be some pics of me somewhere on the net, but I can't find them...Maybe on the battalion Facebook page. Anyway, the first link and the pics at the bottom are of my squad mostly, and a few of the rest of the platoon. The guy in the big picture near the top of the article bums smokes from me all the time, but he's good people.
Can't figure out why php hates this post so much. Deal with it, I guess.
