I voted no, but did not count my few times civil war re-enacting, nor the occasionaly accidental muzzle sweeps I'm sure I've been subjected to but don't remember.

Only once. Drunk guy looking for the dude that was making the beast with two backs with his girlfriend. More of an extended sweep than a determined "point".

He never found him that night, ended up not shooting anyone, and made up with his girlfriend.

I did but it was nothing action packed. I was shooting at a range and some clown pointed a Browning hi-power off to the side after it jammed. Well off to the side was right in my direction. Sure as shit the f@cking gun still had a round chambered as the fool tried (poorly) to clear the jam. Next thing I know the jackass was being escorted off the range.

Twice - The first time was when I was 13 or 14. Some friends & I were riding with one of their older brothers in his POS '63 Ford Falcon. The car broke down as we were driving through the city (this was not a rare occurrence). He was a student in the Auto Mechanics program at the local JVS and usually carried enough tools & parts in the trunk to rig something up to get us home. While he was hauling stuff out of the trunk, we noticed there were some BB guns in there - we proceeded to get them out and chase each other around shooting at each other to kill time while the brother worked on the car. (I know this was stupid, but these were the Daisy one-pump air rifles - where you can actually SEE the BB start to drop towards the ground about six inches after it leaves the barrel. It's just BARELY more force than throwing the BB at your friend with your bare hands. In any case, we were typical stupid 13-year-old boys, so gimme a break :) ). While this scene wouldn't have been rare in our own suburban neighborhood where everyone knew us, apparently people in the city see strange teenagers running up and down their street with guns and think it's cause to call the police. It was just getting dark and I was standing in the street holding a BB gun when an incredibly bright light hit me from behind - I turned around and there was a cop with his gun pointed directly at my head, yelling at me to put the gun down. Long story short, they lectured us, confiscated the BB guns, and sent us home. The BB guns actually belonged to a friend of the older brother, he wasn't happy about having to go down to the police station to claim them...

The second time was in high school - a kid I barely knew threatened me with a .25 pistol. It was a rusty piece of junk, probably didn't have any bullets in it, and probably wouldn't have fired even it did. I wasn't terribly threatened by this kid (he was a 19-year-old freshman, five-foot-nothing, and one of the biggest loudmouths in school). I just said "Whatever", and walked away. Later on he pulled the gun on a guy with a much worse temper than me, who proceeded to take the gun from him and bitch-slap him for about ten minutes straight until he started crying. He got expelled after that.

Hehehe, that sort of stories always brighten up my day... :D

And yeah, what you did at 13 was silly, but you were 13 indeed. Only thing I can say for that is that you at east old enough to know that you should be playing on familair ground, preferrably in a park of sorts. But oh well, at least now you have an interesting tale to tell to the grandkids... ;)

I had a gun pointed at me not too long ago actually. Myself and a group of friends met at our buddy's ranch to shoot on his range he has set up out there. We declared the range cold while we took a break to grab some food off the grill. I went down range to set up fresh targets, and as I am walking back up to our group to grab a plate, the 13 year old son of the ranch owner says he's going hot with a 22 pistol. I was about 15 feet directly in front of him at that time and the only thing I could think to do was wave my arms over my head and shout "WHOA! WHOA! WHOA!" He was scolded, subjected to a lengthy safety lecture, and wasn't allowed back to the firing line the rest of the day.

I felt like I had spent half an hour on the treadmill as fast as my heart was beating. Didn't really have much of an appetite after that either.

Yes on more then one occasion, once involving a grenade launcher. It is unpleasent.

Funny story; I was wiring someone money in a currency exchange once when someone tried to hold up the place. I talked back to the idiot and he pointed a pathetic little snub-nose .38 in my general direction. Thankfully, two cops were in a Dunkin' Donuts (no joke!) kiddie-corner to the Western Union place and handled the situation.

The ironic part is that I was wiring money to a friend that was dealing with a concealed weapon charge. Go figure.

My post isn't as colorful as the others.

In 1997 I was visiting Tempe, Arizona to consider going back to school. Riding in the back of an old Ford Bronco II with the top removed a nutjob pointed a pistol at the Bronco after we merged onto a highway. No provocation, nothing, just some asshole and his penis extension being waved at us. This was before cellphones were everywhere, and in an effort to "scare" the other driver, the guy driving the Bronco put his sunglasses case up to his head and pretended it was a cell phone.

In 1998 or 1999 I came to the back door of a friends store just after he'd been robbed. After knocking on the door he greeted me with a .357 snub.

Yes, walking along the outer fenceline of a farmer who took offense to our presence. A load of twelve gauge flying over your head tends to discourage any mischief.

yes, but i didn't take it seriously. the guy meant it to be serious, but he was shaking so hard I don't think he could have pulled the trigger. I probably should have, since anything could have happened, but I think it was more of a male posturing thing given the situation.

I was accidentally swept by the muzzle of a loaded Glock this morning. The "sweeper" will have trouble sitting for the next week. At least his finger was outside of the trigger guard... :

Lots of people carry snubbie .38s, they'll kill someone just as dead as a 9mm or .45. I'm not sure I would have gotten lippy with a robber but I'm glad it turned out okay for you.

Unfortunately I have. I work in Highland Park, which is a small city inside the larger city of Detroit... not a very nice area. I was driving home through some construction before hitting the freeway and was merging to an area that was open to one lane of traffic (one car moves foreward then a car from the next lane merges, etc). I let a car merge then moved forward, but apparently the next guy felt like he should have been let in as well. When he honked I ignored him, but then he went into the construction lane and pointed a gun at me through the glass. I hit the gas (into the oncoming lane, there was no traffic coming) and got on the entrance ramp that was only a few hundred feet away. Didn't slow down until I got a few miles away on the freeway.

I don't have a Concealed Weapon (yet), but I'm purchasing my first handgun after I move this week and get my security deposit back on the old place. Scary stuff.

Almost the same thing happened to me. I was young(er) and being an idiot. A friend had an airsoft gun for a movie prop, and we were playing with it on the roof of another friend's apartment. When we went downstairs and out the front door a few minutes later we were greeted by about 5 squad cars and a bunch of loaded guns. After some yelling and lying very still face down on the ground, they figured out it was just a plastic replica. Apparently SWAT was gearing up across the street. Looking back, I mostly just feel bad for the guys in uniform who had to pull their guns on a group of teenagers, and wonder if we were the crazy Columbine type who would fire back. Not an experience I ever want to repeat.

I accidently ended up in the middle of inter-tribal warfare in East Africa several times. Nothing puckers you up like the sound of a half dozen AKs getting racked and waved around at you. Just keep smiling was my technique!

Three years ago last Monday I was in a bar around closing time and a man approached me at the bar and asked for my money and to keep quiet, the gun he was holding was a small caliber, probly a .22 or .17hmr, to my side but he retreated once he caught a glimpse of the S&W 500 revolver strapped in my shoulder holster under my coat. Thieves tend to lose interest when you have a bigger gun than them.

Not sure about SD, but in most places its illeagal to be packing in a bar. And if your drinking, legal in a bar or not, you shouldn't be packing. I don't even do that. On a side note, I'm all for packing in a bar if your not drinking, so long as its legal.

Not sure if it's legal or not, I've seen lots of people packing in bars, and I don't ever drink at the bar when i've got a gun on me or in my car.
