And ammo weight. You can carry about 37 rounds of .223 for the same weight as about 10 rounds of 12 ga.

Like I said, this is a huge can of worms topic.

Fair enough. Next to like a .50 cal its pretty much the heaviest ammo out there. Two twenty round bandoliers does add a fair little chunk of weight.

Donald Copp did a good job outlining the disadvantages of a shotgun over a rifle. The main thrust of the article is how to get the most out of your shotgun, but to do that we have to acknowledge its failings.

That was our thread on it.

I would not bug out unless I was forced to due to my home being inhabitable.

That being said I would take my Ar-15(BCM Middy) and my Glock 34 and hit my secondary location (notice how I don't call it a bug out location)

That is the general consensus of most people on this forum. But never say "I'm never bugging out" because if your house burns down, I don't see you bugging in :)

Right now I'm a guest in Oklahoma, should any SHTF situation arise I don't plan on staying, I think I would take my 10/22 and my M&p.
Anyone wanting to talk sh*t about my guns needs to remember I'm holding a gun.

Right now? My PSA/BCM AR and my Glock 19

In about 2-3 years? a Ruger SR-762 and a Sig P226 or FNX-45

Whatever I could get my hands on. In an ideal world either my P226 Scorpion or my VTAC M&P40 for the handgun. I would prefer my Sig 556 Swat patrol for my long gun. But who knows, I might have to use my 2nd tier gear and weapons if I had to scoot in a hurry.

Well, I don't own a handgun due to me being underage, but for a longarm I would have to take my Mossberg 500. 12 gauge, 18.5" barrel, and I've got over 200 rounds of buckshot

Hi there, (First poster dont judge :D)

As for the handgun I'd pick a Ruger S22 (I'll explain why next sentence)
And for long arm, my dads .22 Miroku Lever-action

Reason: Both of these are chambered with .22lr and in Australia (where I live) It is an incredibly common round. The high capacity of the lever action (16 shots) means I can go for longer periods of time before reloading. It is also a hard wearing and incredibly accurate gun for its age (My dad only has vintage guns due to his liking and business)

And the Ruger with its 10(+1) round capacity is also a hard wearing weapon due to its polymer and aluminium pieces and is light as a feather at 17.5 oz to 18.5 oz.

Any feedback is welcome and will be accepted, thanks.
Daryl
