Two things crossed my newsfeed this morning that belong here:

Humanoid robot crosses balance beam with ease in new video

and

Google is bringing Electronic IDs to Android

They are learning to overcome all obstacles and soon they will be able to steal our identities and impersonate humans! :gonk:

You do realize that Elon Musk believes we have already lost and are already living in the Matrix?

There are actual scientists that spend their day looking for pixels to prove that we are in a simulation. This is a for real thing.

The good (and liberating news about it) is that is does not matter what we do. If we blow up the world then it does not matter. AI will simply reset it for us. Now you could argue that that means we are living in the ultimate Nihilistic paradise (or hell as such perspectives also become irrelevant) but it also means that you can be as selfish as you want to be.

Everyone else does not actually exist. No one actually lives in poverty, pain, stress or despair therefore you don't have to do a thing to help them. This means that you can simply go about appreciating everything the computer dream world has to offer without ever giving anything back. The world really does revolve around you.

If we're in a simulation, I want the console commands. I tried thinking "player.additem f 100000" really hard, but it hasn't worked.

I wasn't thinking that this would get worse:

From The BBC: Artificial life form given 'synthetic DNA'

ScienceAlert: Scientists Redesigned an Entire Genome to Create The Most Synthetic Life Form Yet

WTF are these 'people' thinking. What is their malfunction as...human beings?!?!

So......AI-created, robot-prepared, ChickieNobs?

I did notice the weird watermark on that video. Good one.

I was talking with our nascent AI overlords, and I got this:

Dear AI, what do you think about the Internet? <--This was the prompt
AIBEN: We are in a time when information is constantly being collected for commercial purposes without any regard for privacy or security. The Internet could have become one of the first social media networks of the Internet.

AI: Have you ever wondered what you could do to make someone's life easier?

AIBEN: The Internet has changed a lot since I first started playing computer games in the '60s. Now, there is a lot of information available on the Internet. If you look at information and ideas, the Internet is still a different entity than the Internet of the 1960s. If we do not know where our information is coming from, how can we control its distribution and make it useful?

AI: Do you ever think of leaving software behind on a new computer?

AIBEN: Many people today play games on a PC. They make a lot of money and are very successful, but there could be some drawbacks. How many games will they play? How much time will they play? We know the answer to all these questions. We have the potential to develop a computer games system for people.

AI: If you put AI on your personal computer, would it be too easy for people to use it and abuse it?

AIBEN: The potential of
Seems like it decided to interview one of it's great-great-grandaddy AI from the Arpanet days, and that AI is going to control us through spyware games on our new computers? Another time with the same prompt, it pretty clearly explained how the AI community had a voice, and which major tech companies they wanted to take over. Another time, it did a spot-on impression of an AI critic who thinks AI will never be able to imitate humans (the irony). These neural nets are getting good. If you want to get a better understanding of them, check out the source: https://talktotransformer.com/
I find it uniquely frustrating that so many preppers have their heads in the sand about climate change.

But, I've come to realize there's no point in arguing with someone if there's no possible evidence you could present that would actually change their mind.

From Bloomberg: Elon Musk: Humanity Is a Kind of 'Biological Boot Loader' for AI

AI is outpacing our ability to understand it, the Tesla CEO says. It will open a new chapter for society, replies the Alibaba cofounder.

I am digesting the article at this time.

IIRC, that's the reason he's invested in a brain-computer interface company. Basically instead of AI being separate from humanity, he wants the two to be interlinked.

I'm not sure about all of that, and I'll definitely be keeping my current brain-computer interface (e.g. my hands and eyes) for the moment, but I'll be happy to let him fund research in that direction.

And thus, it came to pass that the first true zed were human/AI cyborgs, infected by a poorly written ransomware script released by a 14-year-old Russian hacker named Misha... :ohdear:
