It rained all night here, then from 0730-0930, 3-4 inches of snow with 30-40 mph gusts. It took me 2.5 hrs. to get home from work, normally takes 25-30 min. 5-10 mph on I-64, with a shitload of spinouts and fishtails, me fishtailing others spinning out.
Now it is cloudy and sunny (yes at the same time), winds about 30mph, with snow and ice, blowing off of everthing.

Been snowing lightly since around midnight here, finally getting heavy around noon. I'd say about 5" so far, but forecasts are calling for up to a foot more on top of this.

At least I got the heavy, wet, slushy stuff up from the end of the driveway before it turned into a block of ice. All the stuff falling now is much lighter and fluffier.

Some clips from Berks County in PA. At the time of this video we had about 10 inches of fresh snow in the driveway.
We now have what appears to be additional 12 (Purely eyeball measurements)!

If you guys wouldn't mind sending that snow up north, we could use it! We've been downgraded too 3-6 inch's... How is it people 300 miles SOUTH of me are burried.

But really, be safe guys, stay home if you can.

Mother Moutains have saved us again! We only have high wind advisiories in effect (winds 30-40 mph, gusts up to 60)> Bathtub is filled and chainsaw crew on standby, in case we loose any trees on the driveway or other undesireable places.

west chester has lost power from what i understand.

we are still buzzing here in Caln, PA

i have some very large poplar trees with very bowed brances that i am concerned about since poplar is very soft.

So as you may or many not know my wife is a hotel manager. She is has been holed up at her hotel with about a dozen staff members.

they went from havening 12 occupied rooms to sold out (96 rooms) in just a few hours.

folks are pouring in from west chester and off the turnpike. They even have a snow plow driver there becaseu he got stuck near them.

no one has any thing to eat so they've steeped up the "social" which is like a snack they give out in the eveining to guests so folks have something to eat

seems like some of these folks needed a better bug out bag :)

So we got another 12 inches of snow today. Now we have a six foot high pile of snow in our front yard, now the wind is starting. So far the gusts have been around 45 mph, but they say its gonna get worse.

There's talk of snow Monday but haven't got any details yet. Took a walk around town about a hr ago with Ms Swunk, a lot of power out. Digging my luck so far but I don't know how much more snow my trees can take.

Saturday, Monday may bring more snow to Virginia

Now, weather experts are looking ahead to storms that may be headed to Virginia on Saturday and Monday.

The Saturday storm could be just a dusting, but "it bears watching," said Lyle Alexander, a weather service meteorologist. The Monday storm could be major, but "it's way too premature" to estimate snow amounts, Alexander said.

David Tolleris, a commercial weather forecaster in Chester, said the Monday storm could drop "something like 2 to 4 inches" of snow on central Virginia.
