EU’s satellite navigation system fully offline

Single point of failure anyone? While this isn't as bad as it has the potential to be since it's still a pretty new system and most users still have other satnav capabilities, that could change in the future if some users decide to go with just the new system for better accuracy.

If you want to see a disaster just turn off the US GPS system. The .mil can if necessary do this. The GLONASS would still be operational but not all GPS receivers can use this system. The Chinese, Indian and EU systems are no where near the operational readiness level of the US GPS system.

The fact that so many things now rely on GPS would render many things inoperative.

Airliners (&.mil) still have INS systems as back up but all of the other navigation systems like loran and even NDB have either been shut down or greatly diminished in number.

I can still use a map and compass. But I should update the maps.

This reminds me, I need a new atlas in the car.

Remember the Thomas Guide? Maybe that will make a comeback.

Wow. There's an obscure reference. Good one!
