Possibly the most famous self defense shooting video on the internet - I did a 3d modelling of this video a few years back to better understand where everyone was located in the room

Yep...Problem solved.

Brings up a point though...If you are involved in a robbery and don't have a gun, or have a kid...Might be a good idea to hit the deck...

What I never understood was the mom and kid in that video. A armed robber walks in and she seems to act like it was no big deal. She makes no effort to put herself between the robber and the kid, does not slide over away from the register (well until the shooting starts).

The BG walked in with a gun, intending to do harm, the clerks response was necessary and well executed. No one was hurt with the exception of the perpetrator.

Questioning the actions of someone who was put through a stressful and deadly situation from the comfort of your armchair is despicable. You can question "What if?" as much as you want, but it will not change the outcome, especially since this particular situation ended well.

Meh.

I'll admit, these guys are good at "weapons handling". I do find it interesting than in these "look how cool I am" videos where they show all kinds of footage of themselves moving/shooting/reloading "in your workspace"/switching shoulders/etc./etc., they never seem to show them hitting their targets.

It seems to me that the purpose of shooting is hitting.

Look for Hickok45's channel ..... I would hate to be on the receiving end of shots aimed by him.

The reason I did the modeling of that incident was specifically because someone asked that same question on another forum. I'll try to find the images I posted, but the conclusion I came to was that the woman and daughter were never near the line of fire.

Your question should be asked of the robber, not the victim. He was the one that thought the cash was worth someone's life; he's the one that directly threatened an innocent party with lethal intent. The victim that responded worth lethal force was doing his best to preserve life, not risk it. And he did a great job.

This looks like so much fun. I love the 1911/M1 combo, too.

Point taken. Its great to see a Garand being used for something other than long distance competition. Further encouragement to get my order in to CMP sooner rather than later.

The Vicking Tactical drills on youtube are pretty nice drills.

The thing I love so much about the M1 is how controllable it makes .30-06.

Doesn't this guy make it look easy to shoot?

EDIT: God damn do I love M39 Finns.

She was unaware of what was happening. You see that all the time in videos of shootings. People will walk right into the fire sometimes. Once the gun fire started, she just froze up. That is a common reaction too.
Don't confuse a belligerent and aggressive attitude with the strength, training, and conditioning needed to prevail in a fight. How do you know you have the Will To Win, if you don't even have the will to train?

Maybe they want to try and correct mistakes they are making in handling. It is probably easier to see if you are hitting something but if your groups are not as tight then you might want to have a friend video you so you can spot mistakes on the trigger , reloads etc. So yeah there is the bubba factor but also that I would think.
