Super lightweight, robust, minimal pack real estate. Anyone can bushcraft stakes, I'd just rather save the time and calories. Of course, in terms of opportunity costs, I only have them because of an old REI dividend.


Cool, so they stack well, and dont weigh much. Right on. I am forever thinking about kit weight. We used to have an REI when I lived up north, but it went outta business. Damn nice place though.

Sorry to wake a sleeping thread, but the design of this sparked really needs a small mod. it needs a pin size hole through the top where the flint protrudes. this would allow loading the flint and pushing in a little further with the tip of a knife or similar and put a pin through the new hole and then the spark wheel can be installed without any spring tension. once installed, pull the pin and, tada, ready to go.
