Congratulations to the winners. You deserved to win and I am glad that I didn't have to judge the entrys becase there were so many REALLY GOOD ones.

So... when is the next MBO Contest? It doesn't matter the season to me, I'll go whenever, wherever I can. The fun part is actually getting up from the computer chair, grabbing your gear and getting out there to actually test it out to see what does and doesn't work. Sometimes, it even takes more than one overnighter to really give your gear a good test.

I've already started thinking about the next MBO and what I plan to do during it, so you guys better start getting ready too. Consider yourself warned!

Again, congrats to the big winners and thanks to the judges for the honorable mention.

Wow! Thanks all. Tell you what, I'll take everything I have in that pack and do a 24+ hr trip with it, then post the pics in a dedicated thread. (Time permitting, as I have less than a week before Fall Semester, then a 12 credit load to keep me occupied)

I know you don't want to hear it; but, you missed out on a good time Thursday. Doc66 and I drove through a torrential storm into the mountains, hiked in rain as the sun was setting, set up camp and drank moonshine in the rain all night. 'Cuz datz how we roll :awesome:

Looking forward to the fall and gettin' dirty with my SC homies.

I'm positive the winners have decided on the prizes:

Omega_Man - axe
Ninja-Elbow - multitool or Surefire
Shulatt - hatchet

We'll be contacting the offerers of the offerings via PM.

ALSO!! ..

... I have decided the winner of "Best Trailfood SMBO 2012" is: Shrimpwd!!!!! wooot wooooooottt!!

Main reasons were resourcfulness of the sencond entry, displaying the spirit of the contest, long-ass hike to a backyard play day with a cheap BOB. I would've eaten the hell out of that bannock with Ramen flavoring pack.

Shrimpwd, contact me via PM and we will arrange getting your prize to you as per your choice. I still have not decided what it is but it is cool. 8-)

Congrats to the winners, well deserved!

I had a blast just getting out there and as I said before, the main thing I love about these is getting to see everyone else's bugouts and learning a little bit more each time I get out. The patch this time is just gravy. Delicious, bragworthy gravy ;)

Looking forward to the fall bugout, I'm sure I can swing an overnight hunting trip or something.

Thanks! Thank you N-E as well, for picking my meal!

Now remember, test the ratio for your tastes. I felt the seasoning packet was a little much for the amount of bannock I made. Of course, I probably would have enjoyed it back when I used to use 3 packets of seasoning when making A SINGLE pack of ramen... (glad I grew out of that high-salt phase, not healthy)

what's the word on the patches?... and even though they are free, who footed the bill?... I would like to help contribute to the cost

Thanks for offering the help bro, much appreciated!
No word here from me, but I've offered a few bones to that pot and have not been asked to chip in yet. I'm still "slightly in the know" here. I still stand by my initial offer, so if funds are still needed... the "unseen" can contact me via pm.

The only thing I can tell you definitively, is that I believe that the chosen design shall remain unknown (to all) for now.
Myself included.
