I had the side pockets for min, the arches into the inch straps with Srb's Eagle mad great gear and had great CS, haven't done any business since they moved their op out of country. I did he to visit their place in St. Louis "way back then" had a vest and a pack with some damage from work in a 3rd world country that they fixed while I got a tour of their shop, no questions asked.

I have no knowledge of Fox, have some 5.11 stuff that seems good, but haven't drug it around in far off lands.

Basically, he ordered a Liger belt, they sent him the wrong size, then didnt want to take it back and claimed it was 'custom made' and that he had screwed up by measuring himself wrongly.

When he posted his unhappy experience with their customer service, the CEO of the company got onto the site, went ballistic, made an ass out of himself, and got banned from the site for threatening the owner.

All in all, I'd sooner spend money with Fox than Maxpedition.

My maxpedition packs are top notch, but my liger belt was way too big. I measured properly and just like a co-worker told me they are still too big. So, I went to harborfreight and picked up a leather punch, and punched a few more holes, now I am going to cut the tip of the belt down. It is a damn shame that they can never get there belts right. After my mods it is a good CCW belt but I should not of had to do what I did.

The guy I'm referring to measured like they said and ended up with a belt that was unusably short, so you got off lucky. I'm sure that had it been too big, he would have just punched it like you did.

As it was, they insisted on charging him a big restocking fee, claiming that the belt was a custom item, when in reality they also admitted that they just snapped a buckle onto whatever size belt they felt like.

Yeah, I am kinda leery of a company that calls it a custom belt when you cannot even get a custom size.

ROFL laughing. I want that pink spike bag. That might not quite qualify as "Grey." But then again nobody would expect you to be carrying ammo and MREs in THAT thing. Just manga and Sailor Moon figurines. Ha ha!

I know this thread has been dead for a while but i just ordered this

http://www.amazon.com/Military-Advanced-Expeditionary-Assault-Olive/dp/B002RXO3VK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337419581&sr=8-1

for my girlfriend and I have to say that it is built like a tank. All of the seams are double stiched and seam taped, all the stress points are box and cross stiched... twice. And from the pictures in the OP it is made of a much heavier material. This isn't a sling pack though, its actually quite large. I just ordered another one for myself as a matter of fact, after spending all afternoon fondling hers I decided I could make all of my bugout gear fit into the two packs. I don't forsee any issues but if I find any I will post them.

I bought two of these in coyote and they are an EXCELLENT buy, especially for the price!

QFT... ALL (And I do mean every last one) of our pilots has LA Police Gear bailout bags, and they are all top-quality. Haven't seen a single one fail throughout our deployment, JRTC, Hammats, or FTX rotations. Sturdy gear, those things, and if the backpack is anything like the bailout bag, it's a keeper.

I'm actually glad you necro'ed. I missed this thread when it premiered last fall. These follow up reports on failed gear are so rare, yet so important.

Gushing reviews of newly purchased gear are dime a dozen on the net and are often little more than self-rationalizing, self-congratulatory gloats about beating the system by finding a bargain alternative. They often amount to little more than unboxing table top reviews with no insight on how the item will hold up under hard use. When they fail (and I suspect they often do) you never hear from the reviewer again because they're unwilling to publicize their mistake. The end result is a page of Google hits showing positive initial "reviews" of an item and precious little information on how they fare 6 months down the road.

Makes it harder to identify the real bargains out there (sounds like the LA Police Gear 3 Day bag is one of them).

Crypto: a belated thank you. If we had a rep system at ZS, you'd get one from me for starting this thread.

Well thanks for the thanks, but all credit goes to Bishop on this one.

I couldn't agree more.

On another note, I ran across your posts in the Tokarev thread in the pistols forum. I didn't know you had such fine tastes in machinery!

I guess I am lucky so far - I have their Jumbo Modular Pack, and Medium Transport Pack. So far so good - I have taken the Jumbo Pack on several trips, with 35+ lbs of gear so far. So far - So good. Thanks for the report on your issues, that is good to know for future purchases. I got my fox stuff from a local shop - https://www.260tactical.com

FOX's quality is shit (IN MY OPINION), but my father in-law bought a very small purse like thing from them in ACU And it is holding up pretty well. I picked one up and it just didn't feel right.
