Found out this weekend doing some training that I really need a new dump pouch. My Maxpedition one dropped mags all day, anytime I moved any faster than "mosey."

Any good ideas?

I've been quietly working on this project for a few years. I would have posted more a while ago, but I had the interest of a major gear manufacturer and wanted to see if they were going to do anything with it. I'm finally done with testing and fairly happy with the finished project.

The problem with most hip belts on packs is that while they are removeable, it isnt easy, and almost imposible with pouches on them. I modified my Eberlestock, and am using my Brokos belt as a hip belt. With the attachment method I have, it is completely functional and load bearing. It removes in seconds and attaches almost as fast.

Genius!! Freaking Genius!! I don't know if it'd work for me though. I've got a Sasquatch torso, and even with the gunslinger maxed out on the shoulder strap height, the belt sits too high. I do something similar, but much more ghetto/redneck. Same belt and pack (thanks to ZS and primarily Sigboy). I did it with a long 550 loop attached to one of the HSGI suspender loops and a really small titanium carabiner I picked up somewhere. I feed the 550 through the lumbar pad and snap the carabiner through the other suspender loop. The lumbar pad will sit on top of the HSGI belt and stay in place, surprisingly. This will let the belt ride lower on my hips, versus above my belt/waist line.

That is the tactical tailor removable operator pack. It's set up to dock onto my Eberle. I may be able to dig some pics out of it docked.

My current (SafariLand) holster will not hold my pistol (USP 45) in its current configuration. I have extraordinarily long arms and not a lot of spare room on my (Not as cool as SigBoy's but cool to me) belt. I want a bit (Just a bit!) of a drop. Do any other manufacturers make a holster with a slight drop besides the Bladetech DOH? A while ago many people bought these, can anyone speak to long-term experience with the DOH? How about modifying a DOH to fit a different type of pistol?

I use the doh. I have one for g17 with a light and one for a 226. I had to mod the 226 a little by cutting the end out for the threaded barrel. Pics of my set up are likely in this thread somewhere.

I haven't tried any other holster with a special retention system. I had no trouble retention wise once I got the screws dialed in.

I honestly love where the pistol sits. It's very cowboy to me and just at a natural place where my hand drops to. Works for me. Not sure how much modding you'd need to do. Maybe shoot them an email and they can give you a recommendation.

What did you end up going with?

I haven't done it yet but I have found a local Kydex holster shop that believes that they can make a holster for my USP that will attach to my SafariLand drop-leg rig. I have another of their holsters and I am pretty confident that it will work. Pics and reflections hopefully before the end of 2016!

I feel like I see USP G-CODE holsters all the time and cheap. G-CODE holsters are actually compatible with Safariland accessory molle locking forks, so you can mount them on things like MOLLE or a Safariland UBL, etc.

SOSE how is the warbelt working as a pack belt? I've an ILBE, and that pack has a removable belt setup also.

Anyone got a recommendation on an HSGI, ATS, Brokos, for the specific purpose of also working as a backpack belt? I have a 5.11 padded belt with molle webbing, too thin, and an old school LBE belt with inner padding, but its too flimsy to use as a pack belt.

Will one of the higher end warbelts provide enough support with a full pack?

Does anyone know of a good molle-compatible holster for a 1911 or Browning HiPower? Any drop legs?

So I noticed that a bunch of guys are just running standard belts and not MOLLE for their battle/scout belt. Anyone have any issues with lack of padding or stuff moving around too much on the belt? Thinking of switching to a standard belt with BFG pouches to trim it down and maybe cut down on heat build up (FL here).

Edit: Have a trauma class coming up soon and was considering just going with a light battle belt instead of my chest rig so I can focus more on learning med skills and less on getting around gear.
