A small addition: little fauxton LED flashlights. These were 10 for $5 at Amazon.

Finally saved up enough for another pair of boots. I have regular Goretex Danner Acadias, which are kickass, but they're a tad warm for summer. I bought a pair of Danner Desert Hot Weather Acadias in Mojave Olive, so I'm looking forward to them. Also gives me the option to rotate boots so they arent as rancid all the time

Also, the stock for my 870 should be here Monday. Originally I was going to put it off for awhile, but I got a steal of a deal on ebay, $70 for a $110 stock, free shipping, and I used the $18 in ebay bucks I had towards it as well.

I just ordered a Therma Rest pro sleeping pad. The 2011 stock is getting sold off to make way for the 2012 stock and so I got a decent deal on one. This will upgrade my sleeping pad from a solid foam pad to a self inflating one. Yay.

I also picked up a cheap pair of sunglasses to toss into my bag. I am extremely light sensitive so an extra set of sunglasses will be a great back up incase I loose or damage my regular pair.

Brand new USMC ILBE rucksack. Incredibly comfortable. I did the Bataan Death March (26.2 miles through the desert and mountains) with it and loved it.

Hi U All, this is my first post, but i have been snooping around in theese forums for a while now.

I have just bought a hand and a half sword and dagger from Cold Steel, I´m waiting exitet for it to arive, together whit the two spikehawks i altso bought.
http://www.coldsteel.com/handandahalf.html
I like this sword because I can use two hand metodes, sword and dagger metode and sword and shield metodes. Altso the wedge shape of the blade will help it not to get stuck in a Zombie skull (in theory anyway).
Next I will invest in cuffs and proper cloves, and a hand and a half trainer.

Stay safe and polite :D

Two shotguns in the last 2 months. Both 12ga. One H&R Pardner single shot 28" Barrel as a hunting shotgun. One H&R Pardner protector 5+1 pump 18.5" Barrel for security/shorter range hunting. I still feel i need some serious range time to 'get to know them better.' To the single shot i added a recoil pad. Call me a sissy if you want but I've shot plenty of other peoples guns and this firearm one just plain hurt me when i shot it. Add a wally world pad and it's nice again. No need for a supplemental pad on the riot gun. The factory recoil pad combined with the over two pounds of extra weight is sufficient. Also Ive begun a small stockpile of ammunition. Concentrating on #4 shot 25rd packs of remington 'extended range' for smaller game and the 1oz slugs for larger game. I picked some 00 and 000 buckshot mainly for the protector so i haven't been buying a ton of it because its to be used for range play time and the very unlikely event of a home invasion. So there's no real point in having a large quantity on hand at least for me.
All the best!

A glass 5x magnifying glass that folds into its own case. Took a piece of cotton lamp wick and charred the end with a lighter. Hit that with either a ferro rod or the glass and I have an instant multiple-use smoldering ember.

Also I picked up some bladder cleaning tabs from Walmart. Used them on my camelbak stoaway 100s and a couple of other bladders That have been in storage. I also used one on one of my nalgene oasis canteens that had developed a funk. The tablets worked fine. Then I filled all the containers with tap water and treated it with aquamira drops. They are now good to grab and go for another year or so. (they'll be 'grabbed' before then)

Another 25 rd box of #4 12ga ammo.
All the best!

So here we have an Ontario Knife works 'true edge' butcher knife. Carbon steel blade. Undoubtedly a second of some kind. It's an 'old hickory' i believe. I found a crock full of these at a local hardware/ACE/surplus store. $4.99 each. Bought a couple cleaned them up and gave the edges some tlc. Very sharp. The blade is about the same thickness as a mora clipper. The edge is now wicked sharp with only minor cleanup and freshening on my part. Yeah, I know its a kitchen knife... but it could probably handle moderate camp chores and it chops better than a mora that's for sure and I have $5 into it so i sure won't be afraid to beat it a little.

It looks to be an older production version of this:
http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/OH710/ ... nch-Handle

Now I need a sheath...

I know that merlin said the scabbard is worth ten of the sword... but I'm thinking some sort of homemade plastic or aluminum and duct tape solution is in order...
All the best!

I found my local supermarket carrying Manischewitz Shabat Candles, 12 for the low price of $1.79. They each have a 3 hour burn time. Well worth it! Going back to buy more, in fact. Even if the zombies never arrive, they'll work great in Halloween pumpkins.

5x7 backpacker's tarp from walmart. $10. Kept me dry the next day while I was out on a hike.
Coast tactical red/white LED flashlight. $1 from a thrift store. Still need to replace the batteries and decide where it's going within my kits.

I was originally going to do a full review of this, but there are so many high quality reviews in the CPF community I didn't think I could add to it. I will say one thing that has not been said enough..........If you don't have the patience to learn the programming, then don't get this flashlight. It is literally the most complex User Interface of any flashlight in the world. That being said, if you do learn it, then this flashlight becomes awesome. I love this thing, it is very cool, durable, everything I want it to be. Look up the durability tests on YouTube.

If you want a flashlight that is completely programmable and can do anything and everything you want it to, then this is your flashlight. The only thing I don't like about it is that the strobe can't be activated by a quick button press. In my opinion the only reason for a strobe is tactical, which means I want it fast.

Here is how I set up my flashlight........Orange Peel.
Head tightened:
Turbo only 500 Lm

Head loosened: (Mode memory disabled)
O.1 Lm 100 days
100 Lm 8 hours
Beacon (100 LM flash every 7 seconds for 30 days)
SOS (350 Lm SOS flash for 3.5 hours)

Edit: Just an open invitation. If you have trouble with this light, then feel free to PM me and I have no problem with helping you out with the UI and programming what you want.
