Bought a few items recently:

EveryDayWear: Timberland Earth Keepers 2.0
Image

BugOutBoots: Salomon Quest 4D GTX
Image

I bought a few pairs of trousers, tactical trousers dont go down too well at all here. So I invested in a few pairs from the impecible Swedish brand Fjällraven:

Kebb - Winner of best outdoor trousers 2011...these are amazing
Image

Barents Pro - equally amazing as the kebb, I think I prefer these

Anyone know a US source to buy these, I am only finding EU sources. Have to say they look like some good long lasting heavy wear pants.

*edit, I just found a nice list of US stores and websites listed on Fjallraven's website http://www.fjallraven.us/t-stores.aspx

Well I might as well post my latest purchase here

These are incredibly hard wearing, comfortable trousers which dont hinder mobility. That being said if your into yoga then these aint for you!

I cannot find any US retailers however there is a post post on the BushcraftUSA forums which recommends buying these from a retailer called route 62:http://www.route62.eu/cgi-bin/ibutik/AIR_ibutik.pl?funk=visa_artikel&artgrp=44&artnr=7181r&visa=1-90&Sort=Beskr&Visn=Std

They apparently ship to the USA, read more here: http://bushcraftusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33781

Thanks, I did find a nice list of US stores and websites listed on Fjallraven's website http://www.fjallraven.us/t-stores.aspx

They do look like some great pants for tough outdoor use. I am surprised they have not caught on and become more popular here in the US. Even at the prices of $190 and up for them they still seem like a great deal. Fjallraven has a flagship store in NYC.

I picked up a set of Stiktamers and lama wool string silencers for my Samick Sage Take down bow.

The Stiktamer was specifically designed for the recurve shooter. Made of a hybrid foam rubber material, Stiktamers are designed to deaden string slap and limb vibration at the shot. Stiktamers are more than just a string stop. They also create a cradle for the hook when using a bow hanger. This protects the finish on the limb and avoids abrasion to the string. Stiktamers also act as a brush protector, keeping sticks and leaves from catching in the string crease when sneaking through heavy cover. They are water resistant and last shot after shot. Sold in pairs.

Reduces limb and string noise
Keeps sticks and leaves from between the string and limb
Protects limb finish and string when bow is on a hanger
Made from a hybrid foam rubber for durability
Made in the USA

Two good noise reducing devices for my bug out bow. With the added bonus of the Stiktamer acting as a brush guard so I can stalk in the woods without worry about stuff snagging up on my bow.

Bought a small, cheap, extremely basic Ozarks Trails 6X5 Sout Junior Dome tent from Walmart. It's our second of this model and the first one has held up pretty well to some pretty heavy abuse by my son, niece and nephew over the past few years. (We've also got the 3 man version, which comes with a half sized fly. Not not great but OK and at an easy price point of $29.99)

The rain fly is more of a napkin than anything but when you seem seal and couple the tent with a tarp, you get a pretty nice little inexpensive ($19.99 CDN) bug-free set-up, provided the weather isn't too terrible. It's marketed as a two man tent but I'd say it's more 1-man or two boys.

Just bought a pair of Tru Spec 24-7 pants.

Image

65/35 Polyester Cotton Rip-Stop w/Teflon Coating
Extra deep front pockets
Two knife / accessory pockets
Two cargo pockets with bellowed side gussets
Two internal magazine compartments in both cargo pockets
Double reinforced knee with built in knee pad pockets

So far they are comfortable and seem breathable.

Took me a moment to figure out what you were referencing, then it dawned on me, that is the BCUSA stock photo for the the tarp, not mine. So isn't my Eberlestock.

Picked up my first Nalgene, a 32oz wide mouth bottle, and just received an ENO hammock from Amazon. Also been picking up stuff to beef up my FAKs, mostly little things like scissors, lights, gauze, etc. I also found a cool Coleman light at Wal Mart, basically a battery-powered chemlight, but it has an LED flashlight, a whistle, and the glowstick can flash or be constant, with 200 hours of battery life. For $3.44, I thought it was a good deal compared to actual chemlights.

just got my golite poncho in the mail. Ordered since it was on sale for $45, which is the cheapest I've seen. Tabletop review: looks good. I like that I can use it for emergency shelter as well as standard poncho use (big enough to go over pack too). Lightweight, construction looks good. Will go in my edc and in my hiking bag.

Not really on my "things to buy" list, but I cant ever pass up a deal.

Unused (new) late 80's XL fragmentation vest with care booklet still in pouch.

I was at a gun show and was yakking with a seller who had this on his table late on Sunday.

On a spur of the moment I offered $50 for it and I be damned if he didn't say 'take it".

I don't see many XL's for sale any where near that price around here, especially unused.
