Yeah. Important to note, this is not how much ammo I have, just what I have bought this week.

Today:

Ruger 10/22
Henry Repeater
Remington 870
Fuck ton of 9mm.

After seeing some cool little cook stoves that I don't want to afford, I bought this stuff:

Esbit Solid Fuel Stove and Cookset - Esbit $25

Esbit Solid Fuel Tablets, 12 pieces, 14g each - Esbit $5

Olicamp Space Saver Cup - LIBERTY MOUNTAIN $10

Emergency Fire Starter - SE $5

My Little Pony Phonics Fun (My First I Can Read) $10

Not the best but all have solid reviews.

My little Pony is for my daughter, yupe, learning to read.

Went on a bit of a lightweight mission with my day bag as the weight was getting out of hand. - Apart from the Tomahawk as it's been on my wish list for a while and one night after a few beers did a bit of online shopping

a lot of the items changed made it into my main bug out bag, I've listed in brackets the items they have replaced

SOG Tactical Tomahawk
Leatherman Squirt PS4 (Leatherman charge TTi)
Nalgene 500ml (Nalgene 1litre - it's getting near winter now and the need for this much water on a walk out is no longer needed)
LMF Scout (the large LMF BBQ firesteel - ideal for when out camping as the small firesteels are a real pain when using them often but again as it's winter I'm not planning on doing many over nighters so only need a firesteel for when I'm caught out)
Mora Triflex (full size Ka-Bar was just to heavy and didn't get much use - plus when it was needed always felt a little self aware when pulling it out of the bag in front of the people I was with!)
Jeatbeam BC25 (doesn't replace anything weight wise - currently carry the surefire E2D LED Defender 200lumen version - love this light and the crenelated strike bezel but the BC25 throws out 650 lumen using the same qty of batteries and at a similar footprint to the surefire - if your considering the BC25 please be aware that it will only put out 650 for the first 5 minutes then drops down to around 450 lumen to prevent overheating - not an issue for me but thought you all should know)

Also bought 3 more Mountain House meals for the bug out bag.

I will post some pics whei get the bc25 if Antibes interested.

Thanks

I was sitting and thinking about fire tinder. Most people suggest using petroleum jelly and cotton balls. As I was going through some extra FAC items, a question came to mind, would a package of petroleum gauze work? So I grabbed my metal match and a package and went outside. I opened the petroleum gauze and spread it open, then lightly compressed it back together to allow air flow. With 3 strikes of the metal match, poof fire!!! It burned for what seemed like for ever, next time I will time the burn and post it.

Therefor my newest add is 10 Petrolatum Gauze Packages for fire starting.

Picked up a Swedish Army Trangia set on eBay for about $20. Been wanting one for a while now but wasn't willing to pay the usually insane cost for them.

Just picked up a Leatherman Sidekick on the mainland for like $35. I fucking love this thing. Has everything I need and nothing I don't. I even stopped carrying my Kershaw Blackout because this thing rides on my pocket where the Kershaw used to live. Oh well, I guess now the girlfriend can sport the sexyness of the Kershaw.

I got another Glock, this time a 23, to go along with my 22. Plus a few spare mags. Bought another 100 rounds of .40sw a few hundred rounds of 12 gauge, and 500 more rounds of 5.56 NATO. Also picked up some more canned goods, and started on a new storage rack.
Hoping to bring back common sense to the prepping community.

Suture kit, and talked my gf into getting me an eton dynamo radio and some camping cookware for Christmas. Gonna order a couple molle rifle scabbards for the BOBs prob this week too. Going grocery shopping tomorrow to start stocking up on canned goods and long shelf life foods.

I looked at several leathermans and the Sidekick just gave me the most bang for my buck. I liked the Wave but in the end, I just couldn't justify paying over double for a bunch of tools I might only use once. Since I bought the Sidekick, I've used every thing on it except the philips screw driver and the lanyard ring. I absolutely Love the pocket clip, the main blade, and the saw.

However, I've got somewhat stubby fingers and when the pliers are being used, I don't feel like the handles come close enough together for me to really put the squeze on anything of any real size. (Was never a problem with my old Gerber 600s) Still, using 420HC steel, it's a lot stronger than my Gerbers. And the fit and finnish of the tool are superb.

I did fuck myself up with it the other night. I was opening a beer with it the way one would open a beer with a lighter. Had it all folded closed and tried to leverage the cap off with it over my index finger. Broke the top of the bottle off and took half the skin off the tip of my right index finger and planted some glass in the web of my left thumb. No fault of the tool. My own stupidity. Maybe next time I'll slow down and take the time to open the bottle/can opener on the tool.

Forgot to mention that when I bought my leatherman, I also bought the Miss a Camp Chef Rainier grill stove and 2 1lb bottles of propane for it. Now we no longer need to go cook in the travel trailer when the power goes out. (unless we want to bake)

My set arrived yesterday. Having seen it in person I can now fully understand why they are so liked. Although I have not done a "burn test" I can already see how versatile this set will be for me.

Got a Ranger Falcon knife. The best word to describe it is "beefy". 1/4 inch thick 5160 steel, it feels pretty solid in the hand.

I've been adding a lot of stuff to my wishlist, does that count?

I picked up a few small things as part of the process of putting a PSK together for each of my kids. Today I picked up a multi-tool, a mini Bic, a 20yd roll of duct tape, and a small LED light for each of them. This stuff will all be stocking stuffers for them, with the intention that their stockings will have everything they need for a PSK. They'll get to put them together themselves, and have some room for personalization.

Also picked up a case of bottle water and some candles for GHB/BOB use. Tomorrow I'll be picking up some rope and more 550 paracord.
