It'll work for things with DC or USB chargers, but you might want to get the Guide-10 battery pack to use with it for max performance. I had two of these (gave one to my old man), but these things are awesome!

I just picked up a few of these Kaito KA350 Solar/Crank AM/FM/SW radios. At 50% off I figure I'd scoop one up for me, my mom and my dad for their houses.

Ok not exactly something to go on or in my bag but I did purchase a pair of new Maelstrom "Landship" 8 inch Sidezip Waterproof boots. Normally I wear Original SWAT Boots but I have decided to try something new. The Original SWAT boots are excellent and they do work for me but I want to see if these Maelstrom boots are everything they say they are. They are half the price as the Original SWAT boots so I guess we will see.

A Mora utility knife.

Having seen all the hype about these I had to try one out, especially at the price. It does seem pretty useful and is already in my bug out bag for more um....testing...this weekend. :D

A Cold Steel Pocket Bushman.

I have studiously ignored this particular knife for years, but the recommendations of far too many people on this forum were hard to ignore.

Unfortunately I did a better job of ignoring the warnings about how scary sharp this knife is out of the box, so the knife drew my attention to the fact itself...along with a fair amount of blood.

There's much to love about this thing - from the insanely secure locking mechanism, to the fact that is HUGE, yet slender enough to carry very discreetly. I can't even feel it in my pocket...amazing. It's definitely my folder of choice in the ZPAW (or my next trip to the supermarket, whichever comes first). :D

Okay, I'm gonna cheat a little. My mom got this for me at auction for about five bucks a few months ago. I then bought replacement seals for it about a month ago. I did however combine the two night before last and took it for its first test run yesterday.

I had Enlan EL-01 - quite nice piece of a folder.
I've batoned with it some wood, benches etc.
I've sold it to my friend.

As my EDC I carry Sanrenmu 763 - very light small folder with bottle opener, G-10 for grips.
I also have Sanrenmu 710 - copy of Sebenza. Very cool cheap knife.

Lately I bought: 700 x 7,62 x 39 wz. 43 round.
Vortex SPARC 1 x 22 red dot sight.

three cheap plastic sporks.

Cargo molle pocket in white and one double pistol mag holder also in white.

My k40 whip is enroute now. Most expensive CB antenna I own when you combine it all. Next on my list is a decent CB, although I do have a cheap one for now. My whole antenna get up was more than double my CBs cost.

Here's what $20 will get you at the dollar tree:

Active ingredients in the meds are the same as the brand name stuff. Had to refill/ top off all my faks, etc, and this is the best way to do it.

Bought a large Alice pack as my BoB. I already had the frame. I got the frame a few years ago at a thrift shop for $5 and the pack was only $22.99 after shipping.
Yeah I'm the bomb. Tic, tic.

Milwaukee Fastback Flip Utility Knife.

It was on sale at Home Depot of all places, in a $10 package, bundled with the Milwaukee Sliding Utility Knife.

Strange thing to say about a box cutter, but it's purrrrrty.
Guthook, no-open cutter should work well on seat belts, and the lock release is easy to access, but difficult to accidentally engage, so it's very safely locked both open and closed.

Image

Very solid construction and the clip lets it sit deep in your pocket for convenient and secure carry.

Image

Once the lock is released its easy to flip the knife fully open and locked out with a single flick or the wrist.

Image

There's a wire stripper that can work on up to 10-gauge wire.

The blade can be changed in seconds with the tool-free release.

And the ergonomics are amazing. It is easily one of the most comfortable, natural feels I've ever experienced when holding a blade, and the deep choil allows you to choke up on it, placing the middle finger in it and the index at the wire-stripper for fine work with no fear of slipping.

And I love the fact that it makes a good improvised kubaton, and possibly even a glass breaker.

Pretty damn good for about five bucks, I would say.
