Re: Bug Out Gear Deals (Post 'em when you find 'em)
I was looking for a new manpurse and came across a Maxpedition Thermite for $36.49 (only the black is on sale). Note: I've never dealt with that store before, so I can't vouch for them.
I almost went for it, but wound up buying a M-4 Waistpack from eBags - they're having 20% off everything through Sunday.

Its a Dell D630, widescreen monitor (I think 15"). It barely fits though. It took about a month of putting it in and pulling it out for the laptop to fit in there nicely. If you have a 4:3 monitor laptop it should fit in there with no problem. One other thing, this is not designed as a laptop bag so there is no padding anywhere. You have to be a little more careful with it. Otherwise it works great.

Works great with a lot of modularity. Those side pockets (with the radio) hold a 750ml camelbak perfectly (the 1L naglenes are a little tight). Overall great materials and workmanship. I've been very impressed with it.HITMAN13 wrote:First post. Sorry if I missed an intro section. Anyways, this is more sutiable for a blow out bag or go bag but good deal for 19.99

Cabelas had Camelbak M.U.L.E.'s on sale for $50. I got one, not sure if they are still on sale though. Holds 100 oz. of water, molle straps, two separate compartments (3 including the water pouch). Dang good deal.

Whack em' and stack em'!
Re: Bug Out Gear Deals (Post 'em when you find 'em)

This could be good for a compact 72hr kit. You can't beat the price.

Plus they have this alcohol cookset to go with it:

Bass Pro shops are having a sale on house brand thermals, over 50% off. I used the mid weight thermals in Iraq and they were awesome, highly recommended if you're in the market. I paid $30 each piece retail, I just picked up two more tops earlier today for $30 combined with taxes. They are on closeout due to replacement by a newer product but I really like these. Made with Polartec Power Dry fabric with built-in germ fighter. Here's a link:
thermals
Great stuff and a great price IMO, if I had more money I would've bought a couple more to have a full week's worth.

Actually I've been looking for a deal like that. I hope they have some on Friday after I get paid.Agent_Jaws wrote:Bass Pro shops are having a sale on house brand thermals, over 50% off. thanks for the link on the thermals, going to order two sets for out here in Iraq this winter.
Received the go bags from LAPG. Good quality. Fleece-ish lining on the inside of the main compartment to not scratch anything. All in all, worth the money fro sure.

Botach has a 10% off sale starting 10/08/2008. I've heard Botach horror stories, but have order at least 5 times with no issues; maybe I've been lucky.

Botach has issues and I'm sure there's a thread on just those issues, but I will say that its rare to get an additional 10% off everything including things like weapons sights which have MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) and items on sale/clearance. Since I'm no door kicker and don't need gear RIGHT-THE FRAK-NOW, I like to wait for sales like this to make my bug out dollars go furtherusmc2pd wrote:Botach has a 10% off sale starting 10/08/2008. I found a hand crack Radio/Flashlight/Cell Charger at an Army Surplus store. $20. It's a really good buy, especially if you have a Nokia style phone. If you don't you should be able to get an adaptor for your phone. Flashlight part is 3 bright LED lights. You can opt to use 1 or all 3 at the same time. Hand cranking for a minute should give you an hour of the radio.

Maxpedition has the Vuture II Backpack on sale for $88.19 (black only). Regular price is $146.99.

I would be all over this if I hadn't bought a new backpack for school last week, and if I hadn't already spent $200 on Maxpedition gear this month...

High Speed Gear MOOSE Pack
Was 299.99
Now 160.96 with 30% off
FINAL = $112 (63% off) + shipping
This pack is an exceptional value because it comes with a second hydration holder($48.50) and V-2 pouch($55) so the bag is basically free. They are showing out of stock on the website but they still have them if you call direct. You can find better pictures if you google them.

EDITTED - 30% is already applied. FINAL PRICE is $160.96 NOT $112

In the spirit of full disclosure I ordered a pack but when they posted the $160 price to my bank account I cancelled it. Its still a good deal but in my opinion its not a GREAT deal.

QFT - I got mine yesterday, and it's REALLY nice. I also didn't realize it, but it comes with a Gerber safety knife.
