This is very cool. It needs a better pump. That squeeze pump will take forever to fill a gallon jug.

f I fill it in anticipation of Hurricane Murgatriod which is supposed to slam into my AO in three days time, I can't take a shower prior to the impending disaster.

I'll smell worse than Darryl Dixon after a five mile run in August.

Kelty Coyote 80 Internal Frame Pack, reg. $152; Amazon lightning deal of $99.97, ships free.

http://smile.amazon.com/Kelty-Coyote-80 ... Frame+Pack

Make sure you select the "one size" option and then the yellow "View Lightening Deal" button over on the right.

Absolutely fantastic price on a well regarded internal frame backpack. Way, way below the $141.94 historic low listed on camelcamelcamel.com. This pack offers good capacity, a well thought out suspension system and a few nice extras you don't always see, like a hydration sleeve/port, 2 wing pockets on the waist belt and a detachable top compartment that converts to a good sized fanny pack.

Available to fabulous blackberry (purple) or the forest (earthy brown/OD for that stealthy-yet-still-greyman look).

I doubt this will last for more than a few hours tops, so don't hesitate if you're in the market for a quality, non-milspec medium sized internal frame pack.

Katadyn Exstream Personal Water Purifier on eBay.co.uk. Vendor is a UK government surplus wholesaler that also dabbles in retail sales.

Image

£8 (about US$12) plus £4 UK s&h. Don't know if they'll ship outside the UK but for UK readers it's a big saving.

It's an older model - since replaced by the Katadyn MyBottle which Katadyn list for US$59.95.

Uniden 37-Mile/22 Channel GMRS 2-Way Radios, 3-pack for $25 + $5 S&H.

https://meh.com/deals/3-pack--uniden-gm ... way-radios

As always, real world range on these FSR and GMRS radios is really 1-2 miles, essentially line of sight. I suppose one of these radios atop a desert mountain peak might pull in a signal from another broadcasting from a similar height of land 35 miles away in just the right conditions, but generally these should be considered for short range communications only.

Unusual that this is a three pack, so it might interest someone who needs an trio of comms and doesn't want to spring for a pair of two packs. Also some added value that these units receive all 7 NOAA weather alert bands. Powered by included 3.6v 550mAh NiMH rechargeable battery packs and kit comes with one (dual station) charging dock. Units also run off 3 AAA batteries (not included).

Link at least brings you to a humorously honest product description.

Truspec Woodland Goretex jacket $27.50! These are normally in the $75 range. Size L and M. These are heavyweight tough jackets. I own one in black. Has zips for a zip in fleece liner too. Great truck jacket. Or all around work and outdoor jacket.

Stanley J7CS 350 Amp Battery Jump Starter with Compressor. $39.88, free store pickup.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Stanley-FatMa ... 10&veh=aff

Also comes with bonus roadside service subscription. Don't know how useful that is especially if you have AAA, but it's a bonus.

Currently going for $61.45 on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-J7CS-Batt ... B00RZXVQSU

Not 'bug out' per se, but an f-ing heck of a good deal on a useful prepping item. Besides the obvious jump starting and tire/toy/mattress inflating utility of this, an underrated use of these kinds of products is the ability to tap into those 12 volt and and USB power ports for emergency power for your personal electronics and 12 volt accessories. It even comes with an LED light drawing off of a 9 amp hour battery that's gonna run for what? Days.

Use this once for its intended purpose and you'll be tickled you had it when you needed it. But if you think of this as an ultra high-capacity power storage device, it opens up a whole new world of disaster preparedness applications. Sure, you can home-build a better, more cost effective solution with an off-the-shelf lead acid battery and some basic electronics knowledge. Albeit one not nearly so user friendly for jump starting a dead car battery. But will you? Can you?

$40 for a 90,000 9,000 (thanks teotwaki  ) mAh emergency power bank that does double duty as a car jump starter and cordless compressor.
