Grab Bag (suggestions?)

Post by 66606 » Sat Apr 21, 2007 6:12 pm

I'm building a grab bag, partly as a small BOB but mostly for when I get a call out and have to haul arse to the boat house.

I'm using a 12 litre bum bag, at the moment it's got a change of clothes, knife, spare car keys, 1 1/2 Lt water, a pack of musele bars and 1/2 ounce of tobacco in it.

Any thing else you think I should put in?

(Pic of bag coming soon)

Put a small first aid kit (FAK) in it just in case anything were to happen and then also I would include copies of any important documents you might need.

I think we need more information, just a basic idea of what kind of environment and activities are involved. Along with your EDC.

I didn't see a flashlight. Do you have one as part of your EDC?

I guess I have to echo Ironraven's comment. What is this for and what do you have on you at all times?

Rope

Gotta have rope or twine/cord. That stuff is invaluable when you really need it. While you're at it throw in a lighter for that tobacco.
It's not much, but it's more than I had before.

What I've used most in my bag (that's not in your list):
Flashlight/headlamp
Cash - paper and coin
Aspirin/ibuprofen/acetominophen
Wet wipes
Hand towel
Pen, pencil, paper

What I haven't used but really like having:
Rope/cord
Duct tape
Zip ties
Lighter

If you had read the OP carefully you might have noticed the his comment about needing the grab bag if he got called to the boathouse. If you then also read the weblink, to the independent lifeboat/rescue boat service his town created, after a couple of bad incidents, you would have a pretty good idea of his needs.

Your on probation and reviving 3 yr old threads AND not adding anything constructive to the topic? Is that really necessary?
