DIY pipe and tarp shelters

I found this, and I'm curious if anybody has played with DIY bug out tents.

Nice, But pvc also bends, an 8 foot piece bends enough to fit in the holes in the back of a pick-up bed to form a frame ...just throw a cheap tarp over it and bungee it down to form and emergency tent / covered wagon...

These seem to fall into two type

The bendy kind seen above

and the A frame types.

The web is full of different variations of these two themes.

Never thought of the pickup covered wagon before.

I would note that if doing this by yourself, the A-frame method will probably require less swearing and throwing of pieces as opposed to trying to "bend and snap" pieces solo...
