what could i get

Post by ethanboris » Sun Jul 21, 2013 2:14 am

my mum is going over to the US for a holiday and has asked me what I want her to bring back.....

i have 3 options
1. Firearm stuff (must be plane legal and able to be brought into AUS)
2. Amateur radio stuff
3. Bug out stuff

however it must be smallish and not too crazy in price

any ideas?

Are most of these things not available by mail-order or online?

Where specifically is she going? A similar thread recently got slowed down because the OP didn't know that there were not many gun stores in New York City (his plan was to have his wife purchase an optic on vacation for him).

So, where is she going?

Australia has super expensive prices on a lot of stuff, even when purchased online.

I suggest some nice radio's, and maybe some military surplus stuff!

doing LA, Vegas and San fran i.e. touristy west coast

budget is about $200 AUD

still looking at US webstores, but looking at scopes and radio parts (as i can't legally use US spec radios here)

Personally, I'd have her pick up those small BOB items that you would pay to much to have shipped to AU. Here's some ideas with rough guestimate prices in US$
- Canteen Cup (I remember a post of some from AU complaining shipping would be twice the cost) - $10
- Ferro rod - $10
- Water purification tablets $8
- Spork - $5
- Wetfire 10 pk $8
- Mara Kniv - $12

You get the idea.

Try re-posting, with your "2. Amateur radio stuff" question in the Communication section. They'll have some good thoughts.
