My local Target has what appear to be re-branded Kleen Kanteens on clearance for ~$5.

I hope its ok to post this here, even though it's not an online deal.

I would be careful with this one, because ive seen a lot of offbrand ones that are made of aluminum where as KK's are stainless steel.

I plead ignorance, is aluminum undesirable for some reason? Is it just the strength issue?

It's just a sign that it's Not a Real Kleen Kanteen.

aluminum generally has a plastic liner. SS is superior because the the non-porous structure requires no liner. That means you could set it in a fire to boil water without leeching plastic into your water. SS is also better because...

They are definitely un-lined stainless bottles, not sure if they are actually klean kanteens or not.

My biggest gripe is its not as strong as stainless, and its prone to other weird kinds of corrosion.

I like the Nalgene stainless ones. And you can boil water right in them!

Interesting. Does anyone know if that model is worth a damn as far as reliability goes?

I have the Mag LED Upgrade in one of my lights. It's excellent. I'm going to see if my depot has this deal and pick it up for my other mags.

I am waiting for december at home depot. Last year they had their before black friday thing; I picked up three 3-cell D LED's flashlights, for 7.99 each... Along with some other tools, way cheap.

But I might pickup a upgrade, just for the helll of it..

thanks for the lookout

The local Target has Mag-Lite 3AA LED flashlights 50% off, on clearance for $12. I guess they are replacing them with the 2AA version. I am not an LED fan, but they work good enough for that price
