May I ask why your wife considers them to be disasters?
We have several drum circles every month.
Even our two year old grandson participates in the 'disasters'. It's a way to connect with a part of our heritage.
I don't see how they would bother any one.
Certainly they are quieter than that blasting music from those cars we get now and then.
Sorry, but I also find the drum circles a bit "odd". Just like non-preppers find prepppers odd. It is what it is. Please note - I didn't say bad, I said odd - indicating its merely odd to me, because its not something I participate in.
If you take part in non-standard activities, you need a tougher skin so as to not take insult when people question the activity. I'm sorry if that comes across as overly harsh, as it wasn't meant to be so.
Allow me to elaborate:
If I attend an Open Carry rally, I can't get all bent out of shape simply because some people don't support firearms rights. Its my duty to offer education to that person, so instead of mocking me, they can make an informed decision on the topic. If someone is educated and can give me an educated reply as to why they don't care for something I do, or did, I can 100% respect that. At least they had the respect to grace me with a thoughtful conversation.
