Remains on Chiller TV 12/16

Post by NoAm » Fri Nov 25, 2011 1:54 pm

Set to begin airing December 16th

Based on the IDW Publishing graphic novel written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and illustrated by Kieron Dwyer, Remains is set in a chilling post-apocalyptic Reno, Nevada, and follows the survivors of a bizarre accident that reduced most of the world's population to zombies. The group takes refuge in a vacant casino and fights a losing battle against the undead, who grow steadily stronger, smarter and more aggressive by the minute. The movie stars Grant Bowler (True Blood, Ugly Betty), Lance Reddick (Fringe, Lost, The Wire), Miko Hughes (Pet Sematary) and Tawny Cypress (Rescue Me, Heroes). Remains is written by John Doolan and directed by Colin Theys; Andrew Gernhard and Zach O'Brien will serve as producers for Synthetic Cinema International.

The stock scream effect used about 30 seconds in is the same one they use in the Jerry Springer show.

It also seemed like they re-used the same scream effect five or six times throughout.

Looks like it might be worth checking out anyway, though, except I don't have Chiller. Hopefully they'll put it on their website or "On Demand" for free.

Watching it now. The acting doesn't suck, but it is pretty slow.

I actually liked it. Sadly I thought it would be better and some of the cgi sucked horribly.I only read the first 5 comics of Remains graphic novel, so I don't remember who is new in the movie or who was left out. It can be slow in some parts. But the zombies sleeping at night was a different touch.

yea... i pretty much didn't like it and i only saw the second half.. but i set the dvr on the next showing before i went to bed.. im contemplating if i even wanna watch the first half.... only real good part of the movie was the blonde.. :P

sure it wasn't as bad as a lot of the other 1s they were showing during this "zombie week" such as "Undead Girl" that was on Thurs. And usually i don't get into the technical of the "stunts" but the part where the blonde stuck that huge block of whatever plastic explosives on the tin door and she still got up after the blast?? come ON!!
