I am fairly sure we had a thread about this.

Anyways I am excited

A) its not directed by Romero...Yeah!

B) its got timothy Oliphant (aka Seth Bullock)

At look at some of his finer works

So you just know its going to be a good movie.

I'll be going to see it. Though whenever a movie like this comes out I really wish they would have just come up with a new movie as opposed to remaking one.

I agree, go see it. It was quite enjoyable. Gives new meaning to "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

Excellent movie. A much more plausible outbreak scenario.Timothy Oliphant as always gave a great performance.

I can't wait to see this movie either. I like the original Crazies (granted, not Romero's best work). The remake looks a lot more polished than the original.

Yeah, good movie. I never saw the original. The various Fed's aren't depicted in a very flattering way. I was actually thinking "Oh boy, I can't wait to see what the Fed-skeptics over at ZS make of this..." while watching it :-D

Also grossed out my significant other by pointing out some unwise decisions (from a survival point of view).

Multiple fail on the part of the Sheriff, for instance. And wasn't he a little too quick in diagnosing the event? I would love to discuss it here, but I think this forum needs a spoiler warning tag first...

The sheriff was kind of in a tight spot throughout the movie. To be honest, I think most of us if we were in the same situation would have been pretty well fucked. You don't draw down on the army unless you want a TOW missile through your front door.

I think what was brilliant about the sheriff was.....

unlike people who stockpile 10 assault rifles and 30k rounds of ammo (which all the sheriff's weapons got confiscated anyway besides his hidden ol' 6 gun)..... but he never tried to fight back head to head if he could avoid it. When he had to fight the Crazies, he was a brutal mo fo (knife kill was INSANE!) - but for the most part.... they just tried to lay low and get to safety. I definitely thinks that's the #1 strategy.

I watched the original today and felt it was kinda meh... I'll probably check this out when it goes to video...

This...

Loved the movie. The only negative thing I can say about the movie really was that the effects of the nuclear blast seemed unrealistic from what (I think) I know about how that would go down. I could get into specifics, but it's unnecessary.

Pretty good movie overall.
