For some reason -- to me -- the recoil from the handguns looked really bad (in terms of being poorly faked / acted).

They are FAR too fond of faking gunfire and CGI'ing it in... poorly... later.

weird camera angle or lens?

Sittin' here, watchin' the deleted scenes on the season 2 DVDs.

Here's a long one (shows what happened at the Vato's compound) that someone posted on the YouTubez:

I wish there was a way to include these deleted scenes (not altered scenes) into the episodes as we watch em...

Character development is something that always seems cut quicker than all else...

I really liked seeing that longer deleted one, thanks RickOShea. It went into a lot more about what happened at the Vato's compound, and I really liked seeing Darryl making the connection that the compound was raided by people not walkers. It is really too bad they cut that return to the Vato's from the show, it was a pretty good part.

I wonder why it was cut? Do you think it was too much for AMC? I think breaking bad had worse so I kind of doubt that.

In the comments on the DVDs, Glen Mazzara gave a bunch of excuses about not liking how several of those scenes turned out.......But I think the main reason was that AMC wanted them to cut down the season 2 series premier from a 2 hour time slot to a 90 minute time slot. :(

It sure would have gone a long way towards establishing a major theme in the GN: survivors have a helluva lot more to fear from other survivors than they do the walkers.

I wonder if they were saving that for season 3. Also it would have made it so that kid they took hostage would have been dealt with much swifter. Instead of you know.. Dale trying to be the voice of reason putting doubt in peoples minds. Those guys might have been the same assholes that killed all the people in the Vato's compound.

Anybody think Andrea is pissed that the crew left her at the barn?

I have a feeling that the Governor is going to take a shine to Andrea, and he'll try to make her stay in Woodbury as pleasant as possible. She may even side with Woodbury (for a while) in any conflicts with Rick & Co. at the prison.

Which sets up a pretty large divergence from the GN since Andrea was an important player in the prison in the GN. If she is at Woodbury instead hanging with the Gov then that is a big change in the story line. Of course the TV show seems to have no trouble changing stuff like both Sophia and Dale were supposed to get to the prison according to the GN, so really knowing the GN doesn't really tell you what might happen since a lot is different.
