More likely, he'll try to "take" one.

Man, it's gonna suck really bad for Rick & Co. if Merle is one of The Governor's lackeys. :gonk:

That would be kind of a good setup for following the comics - "a hand for a hand".

And like I've mentioned before, when Daryl was hallucinating about Merle, and Merle reached out his hand to Daryl and said "Here, come take your friend Rick's hand".....Spooky.

So you got to see the scene where Shane became a "dick-in-the-box"?

But srsly it's good so far, though I wish we'd find out what happened to Lenny James' character & his son from the first episode.

I seen all the episodes and I think I'm a fan.

I don't get this one: They all living in the U.S. trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. But they have only a few pistols and shotguns? They can't find more guns? They even fight with other groups for guns? Where are the semi autos? If almost all the people are dead, why can't they find guns all around the cities? Why don't they just go to gun shops and grab guns and ammo?

Probably because most of the gun stores have already been "looted", and any firearms they find are most likely empty.

If you think about it, how many of the 70 to 80 million firearm owners in the USA keep more than a couple hundred rounds of ammunition? Relatively few are preppers that "stock ammo deep".

I don't know. But Rick woke up, then he just grabbed a bag of guns at his workplace. If that place had guns, probably all the other PDs, sheriff offices and military bases have guns. Even Otis had rifle ammo.

When Rick, Morgan & Duane went into the police armory, Rick said that "a lot of stuff is missing". Which is probably why the only long guns that were left were shotties and bolt-guns (and that one semi-auto Browning/FN sporting rifle that T-Dog had trained on the Vatos).

IIRC, Otis had, maybe, ten rounds for his hunting rifle.

There were a lot of M4s and even a few belt-fed MGs at the military check points in ATL and outside of the CDC......There were a lot of bodies of dead soldiers, too (most likely because they expended all of their ammo and then were overrun by the walkers).

Here's a teachable moment: if you have a firearms battery as part of your preps, stock plenty of ammo NOW.

That's why the show is so interesting... If it was a bunch of ZSrs, you'd have the same episode every week.

"Okay, does anyone need anything?"
"don't think so."
"nope."
"good"
"all set."
"... Um, I've got the generator all set up, see if you can find a copy the Good, Bad, and Ugly at the next settlement, huh?"

Each week, they visit another outpost of ZSrs where they exchange stories, trade seeds and fresh veggies, and talk about how much juice the windfarm is generating, while anything really important is communicated across by HAM radio operators.

And any kid that won't stay in the house get's a shock collar for dogs, and some "invisible fence" wire run around the outside of the house....

Ammunition is stockpiled high enough that cases are used as furniture.

I should think that that was probably the last thing on their minds, since they'd just found a safe haven with warm food and hot showers (and they hadn't had either for a good while).

ETA: I am somewhat surprised that Carol's husband didn't have any weapons, what with all his MREs and "Op-Sec".

They'll probably be better armed eventually. They should find a few Ruger Minis.....They seem pretty popular in Southern correctional facilities.

In the comic books it took them a good while to accumulate some "military-style" firearms. They still always seem to be short on ammo, though.
