Just finished the 8th Paperback. Safe to say I'm addicted to the GN now. And holy shit, that did not go at all how I'd expected.

Anyone else see Danny Trejo for the Governor? That was the first thing that popped into my head when I got to that part.

Spoiler alert:
I felt a bit bad for GN Lori to die, especially how it happened. Sucks that the baby didn't make it.
Also, I wonder if Merle losing his hand is a replacement for GN Rick losing his. Seems like they wouldn't want to do that on TV. But then, it's Kirkman. Who knows what he's gonna do.

That was my first thought too...but I like that they are using all "less known actors". Its funny before this show I didn't really know any of the cast from any others shows or movies then once I started watch I started seeing them everywhere!

I thought it was spooky when Darly was having those hallucinations of Merle in the "Chupacabra" episode......And Merle reached out to Daryl and said something to the effect of: "Here, come take your friend Rick's hand".

OH shit. I'd forgotten all about that. Gives it a whole new flavor of eerie.

Cool T.

Also I loved the first episode & am glad there's 13 this season instead of 6. But they've shaved about 20 minutes from each one if I recall correctly :(

I think it's only in Britannia where TV shows are 80 minutes long (we only get the 60 minute trimmed version of Top Gear on BBC America).

Yeah, if it were Tyrese I don't think Herschel would have that "Dear god don't drop the soap" look on his face.

Dunno if this has been posted elsewhere but the story is these guys wanted to recreate Hershel's land from the walking dead in minecraft. Well Carl from the show watches them and helps them build the house. Thought it was kind of funny.

OK I have a little question, how did the ito (handle wrapping) on her katana go from black in the end of season 2 to white in this picture?

Image

Not only did the wrap change colors but so did the stingray skin under the wrap. The season 2 shows white ray skin under the wrap, the new picture shows black ray skin. While those are common color schemes for katana (yes I own katana and know a bit about them) it is a dramatic change.

Did they decide to make a more distinctive "cool" katana for Michonne when it came to filming season 3?

Not a huge deal, but it got me wondering.

I foresee a big increase in katana sales and interest once we get to see more of Michonne's bad assness next season.

I found that picture "at random".....No story or caption with it.

Possibly it was just some photo studies of the character with whatever prop sword they had available.

I guess we'll find out eventually.

It's good we're discussing this picture because it reminds me how awesome season 3 is going to be.

I had a dream (well, if you must know, a nightmare) last night. The first three episodes of TWD: Season 3 were aired and they were horrible; just horrible. Carl gets kidnapped and it's three episodes of Rick negotiating with the other group for his release. It was just talking....and talking.....and talking. No drama, no tension, it was clear from the end of the first episode it was just a matter of working out how many guns Rick had to give up in order to get his miserable whelp of an offspring back.

The fans were in a uproar, ratings plummeted and the producers put the remaining ten episodes on hiatus while they tried to figure out what they were doing wrong. I don't think you even saw any zombies in any of the episodes.

No shooting, no fighting, no blood, guts or undead. No death, no drama, not even anyone screwing someone behind someone else's back. I'm telling you, it was a nightmare, people. Somebody hold me and tell me it's going to be all right.... :gonk:
