There are major differences in the characters from the show and the gn...a few are... SPOILERS AHEAD

1. T-dog, the Dixons, Beth Greene, and Jimmy are not in the GN
2. Carol is in her early/mid 20's
3. Hershal has more kids in the gn...at least for awhile.
4. There are a variety of different couplings that happen...like Dale and Andrea
5. Characters have died/stay alive differently...Dale, Sophia, and Otis are alive when they get to the prison.
6. Carl is pretty much ALWAYS looked after and monitored.

At least not until she turns into a telephone. I really wonder if they're going to run that in the show.

My guess.... Lori will call on a cell phone... Something that you can see the name brand with...

I just don't see carrying a house phone in a show during a time when most people are ditching house phones for cell phones entirely...

Course the way the show is creeping along (I don't mind, I actually like the slower pace) it might be different entirely.
I also like the way the show is steadily moving in different directions, and I wonder if it will continue to drift away from the Graphic Novel...
I just hope it doesn't loose it's way...

"You know honey" The ghostly voice drifts in. Rick looks past Daryl at his wife, standing a few feet away, "I've been a figment of your imagination for a while now, and I just wanted to tell you that Merle is here too, checking in on Daryl...."
Merle steps beside her and slips an arm around her shoulder, tossing his chin up, " 'Sup, Crackercop.... You been feedin my little brother lies again?"
"Shut up Merle" Lori says and slips a little closer to Rick. "Merle seems to think I like him."
"Dammit woman!" another voice cracks in, as Shane pops into view, "first your all like, I luv my husband, then your all like, I understand your feelings.... I'm dead, I'm right here... Now your flirtin with Merle???"
Daryl turns and stares a moment, then looks back at Rick.
"show just jumped the shark, didn't it?"
"yep"
They both turn as Lori starts looking around.....
"Where's Carl?

I like it. But he can never be on the correct page. Look for him on page 5, he's on 17. etc.

Me too! I think i trust zombies more than people since they make excellent pets as long as you remove their arms.

Thought I would share this fun video from barely political of a crass between Walking Dead and Madmen TV shows.

Here's a question, (mirrored from another thread/)

I know there are a lot of Browncoats on the forums and I'm not knocking Walking Dead at all (love the show), but hypothetically;

Would you give up season 3 (and any following seasons) for the equal number of seasons for Firefly?

In other words, if you could wave a magic wand and replace Season 3 with Season 2 of Firefly, would you do it?

In a heart beat yes I would!

Firefly just has a much better story line and writing, nothing against the Walking Dead, the comic/GN is written well however the show is constant "Where is Carl?" and yelling at the screen for them to get smarter, use radios etc.

So a definite yes I would give up WD seasons for new seasons of Firefly, as long as Joss were still doing it and it was up to the standards of the first season.

I would still be able to read the WD GNs anyways :D

Naturally, I would.

If this magic wand also retcons Wash's death (i.e. we can magically un-see what has been seen), then I would throw in Season 1 of TWD as well.

Because damn. Not like that.

Of course, any seasons would predate the big damn movie...

Then again, I'd be happy with another big damn movie.... (or two... they come better in trilogies...)

Hell, I'm sure even the actors would jump at the chance... Sure, it was probably really hard work......

Can't we keep the 'Chronicles? I might trade you and burn Dark Angel though (okay, maybe just the last season).

But yeah, retcon the Big Damn Movie plotline and bring back Whedon's Masterpiece and you can toss TWD in the fire (which would be sad but... Dude, it's Firefly).

AMC could always buy the rights to Doc66's stuff instead. Win/Win. :D

Read through the second Paperback yesterday. I think I may be addicted. :?
I love the similarities and differences between the show and the GN. Tyreese seems like a pretty cool guy. I had a thought about him: if they ever bring him into the show, they should have Ray Lewis play him. The resemblance is uncanny.

My kids and I were discussing this show yesterday while driving home from the store. My son Michael is 12 and a huge fan of the show. My daughter Samantha will deny she likes it, but know a lot about it.

Michael: I can't wait until Walking Dead comes on again!
Me: Yeah its gonna be good! Andrea is gonna be pissed when she gets back to the group.
Michael: Why?
Me: Because she dont know Shane is dead yet.
Samantha: Which one is Shane?
Michael: The one doin Ricks wife doggy style in season one.
Me: ROFLMFAO and almost ran off the road.
