FINALLY caught the last episode thanks to a buddy of mine. It was good, attention grabbing...but I was a tiny bit disappointed actually....I mean seriously, what was that? Don't wanna go too in depth in case there is someone else here that for some reason hasn't watched it...but I mean, wow...I hope this isn't indicative of them running out of plot...

No, there's plenty of plot to come, it was just time to move on.

Hell, if anything we're just getting into the "meat" of their story.

Congrats on catching up, Minus.

And re: hope for a little more plot? Oh man, you have no idea what's coming, do you?

That strange hooded figure and the final shot of the prison have fans of the graphic novel alternately cheering and salivating. Our motley crew of survivors is in for a world of hurt. The characters that have died so far are the lucky ones.....

So just curious, in the last episode was that the 21st century version of circle the wagons?

I would have been all cool following Rick until the whole Ricktatorship thing. I will never give up "having a say" in my well being. That would be my que to exit stage left and I guess I would try to win Glenn and Maggie over to my side to leave as well.

It probably wouldn't have happened if Shane hadn't been undermining the entire 'democratic' system by doing shit his way regardless of opinion.

You'd think that they would have left, but they can pool resources/responsibilities and back each other up as a group.

They don't have a contingency plan for survival (except for Daryl), and most of them rely on the collective group to get things done to stay alive. Rick tends to lead by setting objectives (acquire bag of guns, head to the CDC, etc), and I think it gives them some sort of purpose, or at least something to focus on other than staying alive.

You saw what purposeless survival was in the Pilot, and it's pretty grim. Social survival is what keeps the group sane, and that's why I think they put up with Rick's 'el Presidente' shit.

Daryl's already halfway out of the group to begin with, but I think he's staying on because he actually gives a shit about what happens to them. He's fully capable of living on his own, but I think that it'd still suck to be out there alone for all that time (would probably run into more Meryl hallucinations).

Between Dale's "pep talk" to Daryl about his place in the group, and Rick promoting him to "enforcer", I think Daryl may be closer to the group now, more so than at any other time......Of course it looks like Carol may be trying to undermine that. :?

I don't want this to get sexist. I just mean the writers of the TV show have done a pretty mediocre job overall in portraying the women as capable of anything other than constantly being in need of rescue or interfering with men trying to do manly things.

Ya know, on second thought: We know that Merle has been in Juvenile Hall and the stockade/brig when he was in the military.

Stick with me now....

It stands to reason that he's been in-&-out of prison his whole life. And if he and Daryl grew up in Georgia, then Merle has probably been in several of the state's correctional facilities. If the prison in the show is as well-stocked as the one in the GNs......It could be the one place Merle would head for IF he managed to escape Atlanta.

Where are the dogs in TWD universe????

Especially on Hershel's farm. All farms should have at least one dog.

I think they would make great zombie alarms and also very useful in distracting a zombie, there by making it easier to split their noggin's open.

I was thinking this same thing. And there would also be packs of feral dogs roaming the countryside too.

I think the dog being ate by walkers in the opening credits....And Guillermo's Hell Hounds, are the only ones I can remember seeing on the show.
