US Army Jungle Training uptick in last few years (?)

From what I can tell the USMC has had fairly steady jungle training but the Army had been focused on desert ops.

Anyone following Soldier Systems Daily will notice that the government has been soliciting a lot of jungle gear as well, hot weather uniforms, belt-based combat loads, and there was a big jungle ruck competition. Whether they see something coming, or are just trying to not get caught with their pants down like the first time we fought in a desert I can't say.

The plus side is it seems to be driving some fabric advances in hot weather clothing that will likely trickle down to civilian clothing eventually. I believe Sitka is already experimenting with some of Gore's new hot-weather fabric.

I've not followed SS Daily very closely so I missed the trend on jungle gear

Found this video on Youtube from Altama

My guess is growing threat in Southeast Asia:

Does your BOB at least have: water, basic tools, fire, food, first-aid kit, and shelter?
