Unless the virus isn't a virus, just activating a dormant part of our genetic code, and the shaking is a symptom of the rapid, near-lethal instant take-over of the CNS. Sort of a take on TWD's "We're all infected already" premise.
2. Our greatest hope is this hotshot kid epidemiologist and we're going to fly him to zombie-infested Korea with...what, about four or five guys? With no training for him at all, even in basic trigger discipline? Hollywood gunplay aside, what's saying there weren't multiple teams, multiple sites, etc?
I rather liked it, might try it in 3D if the 3D was really that good.
1. Maybe so, but they always referred to it as a virus. They could have been wrong, but even when I get a fever blister, which is a virus that has permanently inserted its code in the DNA of the nerve cells around my lips, it takes hours for the blisters to pop out.
2. No other missions were mentioned. I can only deal with what they showed or talked about in the movie. If the kid epidemiologist is getting sent into a danger zone, I would think that a larger group of military badasses would be going with him. It's the future of the human race, after all.

Hooray for the UN. They save the world yet again. What a wonderful planet we have after all the naysayers are killed by zombies and the United Nations rules the world. Hated it!

Hey crypto, never see a movie with me. Especially not a poorly written one that tries to mask its stench with cgi effects. Would have been better if Max Brooks had kept some creative control.

I thought it was a great movie that had a nodding acquaintance with the book...like maybe they had coffee once...

I don't see this as a bad thing, because I think that the book would make a better series on HBO or Sci-Fi or AMC than it ever stood a chance of doing as a movie...

The weren't that way in the books, and shouldn't be in the movies.... It just isn't necessary to make them that way to make them scary and dangerous, and I think I will find it distracting unless the movie is otherwise super engaging and draws me in way more than I expect it to.

Doesn't mean it won't be good. I just don't see how it will live up to the title with the wrong kind of zombies.

Eh. Belt fed weapons and targeted munitions mean that slow, shambling hoards aren't really that dangerous. Hoards of enemies walking slowly, standing up, clumped together? We call that a machinegunner's wet dream. Max Brooks' assessment of why machineguns wouldn't tear through zombies demonstrates his lack of actual knowledge about the human body, ballistics, and military operations.

That said, the swarming, ant-like zombies are critical to the movie, though a decent military planner should have foreseen what was happening at the point where they become a key point.
Not slow and shambling, just ones that move within the limits of the normal human body they are limited by.

And they may be a machine gunners wet dream, but a machine gunner focusing on killing zombies is the wet dream of the former soldier turned zombie who is charging the machine gun point from behind just then.

Enclosed defenses in a zombie world? Death trap. The only question is how long until someone inside turns, you run out of ammo or food, a fire breaks out, or someone inside looses their mind and starts blowing the place up or let's the zombies in.

The point is, zombies that act within normal constraints can still be a world-wide threat if your writing is good. No need to deviate so much from the original premise.

Saw it and thought it was good. I recommend people spend some money and see it. Not horrible in any way, though not my favorite movie either. It was fun and I enjoyed it.

I think you mean cavalry. Calvary is completely different, and I don't think there's a hat associated with it.

What? That from the book? I am rereading it, but don't recall that in it.

Yeah it was a thorny crown. Jesus Christ riding to battle on a horse solves both I'd say.

auto correct... sorry.

cavalry hat. Moody kid in a huge cavalry hat. Getting eaten.

Because he's not in the house.

But the trigger discipline scene was my favorite.

THIS is a cavalry hat!

Do they use clips in their guns?

It looks like a cavalry hat. without the swords.

I'll call it "The stupid hat the kid wears in walking dead that looks somewhat like a cavalry hat without the swords, except their sabers, and it's not really a cavalry hat and it's not spelled Calvary, but I don't know what else to call it."

WWZ... lack of stupid hats made it a great movie. Zombies slow down for stupid hats.
