I know. But I'll be back, ready to bring the story to it's adrenaline-pumping, high-octane conclusion. Will Wildwood invade and conquer? Will James fight a pre-emptive war? Will the vast zombie hordes roaming the highland rim cross the plateau to infest the valley?

Stay tuned.

No updates on the discussion thread. Sorry!

Still working on a separate project but will return to High Ground next month. Book I will need some edits before I go to press with it, then I'll get back to finishing up Book II (posting as I go), then on to Book III.

I really would like some illustrations to go with the release of Book I, but I'm not going to hold up release for want of them.

Ryan Reynolds is a terrible choice for Rob. Too pretty. He can't be prettire than James or you create a dynamic that you haven't written about.

This is who I picture for Rob, but he is obviously too old now.

Cool choice. I want a baseball player kind of guy. Favreau could look like one, sort of a Mike Piazza physique. But yes, too old.

I just thought I'd repost this message here:

I am closer to completion than I thought. I will be breaking the "first book" into two books of roughly 250 pages each, the first one ending after James discovers the secret passage. Book II will be called either Acts of God or Force Majeure and will end after the weather event. And the current one, Key to the Kingdom, will be Book III. I'll be prepping Books I and II for e-publication soon ("soon" meaning any time between now and the end of the year) and will be deleting them from the forum.
