The Unaccompanied - My Survival

Postby The Unaccompanied » Tue Oct 11, 2011 11:08 pm

I am the Unaccompanied, a survivor. I am loner, but I was not always this way... At the beginning of the outbreak I looked for the ones I loved, only to find them dead or turned... Once I realized that I could not seek out my loved ones or friends I wanted to build a team... I saw many of my new acquaintances killed or turned by those flesh eating monsters. Often the survivors I found were weak and slow. Sometimes putting me at risk. I was scared to be alone. After risking my life to save people watching one after another turned or killed I started to realize I would be better off alone... I would still pick people up from time to time and try to keep them in my team, until my encounter at an abandoned factory in Ohio. I was seeking out supplies when I heard a scream for help... If I would have only waited another 30 seconds she would have been a goner. It didn't take long for us to fall in love. We traveled as a team for almost a year and a half. Until the day she was bitten. All I could do is turn, shed a tear, and run. From this day forward whenever I encountered someone I would separate myself as soon as possible... It was the key to my survival. I could move faster, I didn't have to collect as much food, and they would never put me at risk... Whenever I meet someone the memory of Misty being bitten replays in my head.
Now it’s time to tell how I survive. I want to start off by telling you about my dog Byron. He is a necessity for me to live. He will check out areas before I enter often leading the zombies away from where I need to go. He is loyal, fast, and never puts me in danger... When I am sleeping, he watches over me. He also helps carry food rations and other items I need carried. I love that fuckin’ dog.
As far as my weapon choices go, it took me a long time to perfect my attacks. When the outbreak first started my weapons of choice were guns. They didn't require me being close to the zombies to.... uhh, kill them? The only problem was that guns needed ammo and lots of it. The other problem was they were loud, and that attracts more zombies. I needed a way to silence my kills and move stealthy. I experimented with so many different weapons until I found Stacy, my Spear Pointed Machete. Stacy was amazing and durable. I had killed over 12 zombies with only one or two blows in the matter of weeks, she made me confident. I could lunge and thrust it directly into the head for a one hit kill... Not only that, if one came from the side I could usually injure it enough to kill it or get away... I started to think how great that would be to find a second one... I tried numerous machetes until I found Silver, my Sickle Machete. It was the sharpest weapon I had every laid eyes on. I could decapitate a zombie in a single blow, or drive the point right into the brain killing them immediately. Stacy and Silver are the deadliest combination possible.
My defense is equally as great. I have armor, nothing like anyone has seen before... It is light and comfortable. It is leather like wrapping that covers areas easily bitten. Sure it still hurts but they cannot puncture my skin. I cover my forearms, triceps, back shoulders up to my neck, and my ankles. It has saved me many times, and over the years I have not had to change the wrappings.
With all the odds that are against me I have prevailed. I have come close to death at least a dozen times. I am not unstoppable, but I am pretty damn close... I am the Unaccompanied, a Zombie killing machine and a survivor. I have counted over 185 kills over the years. The reason my kill count is so high is because I am always on the move... I never stay in one area to long.
I am sick of all the rumors of the safe areas, people coming from West saying the East is safe... People from the East going to the West thinking the same thing. I guess it gives them something to live for.
Unlike most of you I will not even think about killing someone once they are bitten. The risk is far too great. Some say it takes hours to turn and others say days. I will not risk my life for someone, to attempt to go out with a bang.
For now I will continue to travel, and I may have passed many of you on my journey without you ever knowing................
