Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain
Thank you for another great update TB. Thank you for ll the time and energy you have put into this. It is a great story!!!
The way you worded the last comment confused me. Are you calling this the end of it and then starting a new story about Lucas or just starting to put in segments with Lucas's story?

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain
I thought I'd fill in what happens to Lucas before going back to Mundy and Katrina. There's probably going to be more from Liam back at the log fort, too. That's the (extremely vague, cloudy and ill-defined) plan, anyway.akraven wrote: The way you worded the last comment confused me. I don't think Michael should be resurrected. He played his role: being the catalyst and moral compass for the group. Now he's gone, one of the many casualties of the PAW. Let Mundy pick up the torch and carry on as the flawed and conflicted but capable leader of the band.

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain
Ah, I have finally outrun all the archived story, I've reached the end.
And now I have to wait with all the other addicts for MOAR!
This has been good stuff. I've been very entertained. Three(?) years ago I google searched "best zombie novels" which led me to read at the local library the top three novels which many sources agreed upon. I have to say that at the least your story is better than the 3rd best novel.
I was shocked when Michael died, even though I had been wondering for many pages 'how the heck is the writer going to save Michael this time'? But I guess no one is immortal in the zombie apocalypse, eh?
But since that plot development, the title doesn't reflect the story anymore. You are going to need something different for Part II. Zombie road? Pilgrims of the apocalypse? The Good, The Bad and the Dead?
Finding Lux?
(I kid! I kid!)

I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain
Just dont forget about Mundy and geeze, whats her name!
Tinderbox wrote:Three years? Three years!?! How
can that be possible!?!
This whole thing started with me conjuring up a character and inserting him into the Walking Dead universe back when Rick and Shane and the rest of them were at the quarry outside Atlanta. That Mundy-like character drove up in a stolen Cable Company van and laid his gun belt and revolvers on the hood before walking up to the group and introducing himself.
All I can say is thanks for reading along.
Oh, and by the way, Michael's dead in this version of the story. But if I ever get around to rewriting it, I think I've figured out a way for him to survive - with Lucas' help.
And, concerning Lucas...
You're right. It's time to go back and write about Lucas' journey over Roulette Pass and down the other side.
Thanks again.
I gotta go to class.
Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain
Awesome.
Thanks so much TB.
Also, I'm super excited for an update on what has been going on with Lucas.

Great to see you back at the helm, Tinderbox.
Your writing has done nothing but improve since the beginning of this long yarn.
As for myself, my latest story is stuck in a fog of visions of disconnected scenes and people talking that I don't know yet.....

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain
As a confirmed gun-nut, I do appreciate the bits of gun trivia sprinkled through the story. We even finally saw the appearance of the Chinese SKS! (a weapon very suited for the zombie apocalypse)
As ammunition seems to be running low or even running out, I wonder when we will see some survivors using home-made black powder? Good thing .45 Colt was originally a black powder cartridge
But the next oddball firearm I am waiting to see make an appearance is the snake-charmer (or one of the more recent clones), a cut-down .410 single-shot shotgun.
