Hell-mfing-yeah.

Looks like I won't have to cancel that order for a pallet of lube that I sent to Braxton's mom's place.

That's awesome. I think (not 100% sure yet) that Steph and I are out for this one. We were looking at the cost and time and talking about it, and are leaning towards spending an entire month (May 18 to June 18) road tripping around California, seeing friends and family, etc. This both consumes our "adventure budget" for the summer, and conflicts with the time of the course. Being college professors doesn't pay all that well, but being able to take a month off every winter, and a month off every summer (with plenty of wiggle room on either end), really makes a big difference, so I think we're going to take advantage of it.

We're going to do some range time in the next couple weeks, get Steph proficient with the AK, get my optics situation figured out on the AR, and work on basic accuracy from prone, kneeling, and standing positions, and getting Steph smooth with her reloads. Hopefully get her a pistol of her own and make it to the next class, whether it's Fall or next Spring/Summer.

Does this mean that the Friday class that would be mandatory for folks like me will also be "on"? I don't really wanna run headfirst into the weekend without some trigger time with the basics, or I WILL slow shit down, and I really, REALLY don't want to waste anyone else's time.

My pistol ammo's in, and I'ma blow through at least 250 on draws and reloads here at home.

Also, would our instructors have any use for golf balls? I'd have to clear it with my 4-year-old, but so far we're up to 35 after scavenging today.

Golf Balls??

The most fun thing I do at the range requires golf balls..

Throw a ball underhanded and shoot it with the rifle before it stops rolling. Keep it rolling until you cant see it anymore. Its hard to find a range that you can do this on, and I can't see us doing it in class, But its fun! And it teaches you how to get on target damn quick.

That class has 11 "definites", so yeah, the warm-up class is gtg as well. We could have had the regular class without the warm-up, I don't think Doc and Dave would have agreed to run the warm-up class without the main class to follow it with.

The two day class is going to be a "hit the ground running class" so for those of you who have taken a MilCopp class before, think Saturday afternoon as Saturday morning for this one. Not a lot of "this is how you do it" but more, "do it." So, the one day class will be Saturday morning. I would suggest taking it.

Also, since we are opening this class to others outside of ZS, we have five more slots in the two day course open. The other five are offered to others in the world... If you are thinking about it and still fence sitting, get off the fence!

Golf balls... I like shooting golf balls, but I can't see us using them at this point. That may change.

The Friday class is now a Saturday morning class?

I was confused, too.

KC, the Friday class is Friday but it's Saturday morning, except a whole day of it. Then Saturday morning is Saturday afternoon except twice a day. Sunday they teach us to travel through time and we go kill a fucking T-rex.

Goddamn I'm stoked. :D

Sorry, I had just gotten up. Think of Friday as the Saturday morning of a two day. "This is the grip, this is the bang end, this is how you stand, this is..." and go from there. We are not going to spend a lot of time making sure that you know how to clear a malfunction, we're just going to stand over you and berate you until you get it done. Or something. :D

Understood. So on Friday and on Saturday morning you are going to tell us where the shiny roundish brass thingies go? And what the deal is with the square hole in the handle? Hope so.

One of my bros from the Corps is expanding security contracts, so I might need to jump in to class for a refresher before going downrange.

By Saturday if you don't know that, you will be the subject of much ridicule. Between the LEO and USMC training, I think we can make you cry.

sigh, yeah same here. I got all my 556 for the year by Feb/March, but just ordered another k of 9mm while it was still around $200. I'm also doing a local AR class next week that is going to dig into my ammo. Should be a good warm up for Milcopp though. It leaves me broke as shit though. I still have to order 9mm and %.56.

And since it's only a month away, I've only got four deposits. Pony up boys.

I wish this class was in Columbus, Ohio. Reading about the last zs carbine class that was there was a huge motivator for me to build a serious fighting carbine. Will the next one be in Ohio again? If so I will definitely attend.
