Thanks Dave, that helps a lot.

I've just learned to ask that specific question after one "Defensive Handgun 1" class where I showed up with my carry rig, a Sig 239 carried IWB under a jacket, and everyone else was open carry with most running drop leg holsters, dump pouches, etc. It was essentially a carbine class without the carbine. Nothing wrong with that, but it wasn't what I was expecting and had I known that I would have open carried a high capacity semi instead of a 8 round CCW gun.

HAHA. No.

As Dave already hit, we recommend what carry daily with the pistol class. Focus is much more on the individual as shooter, rather than the team/buddy as with the carbine courses. Much focus on looking for cover, movement/getting off line, and closer engagements... pushing off the target etc.

I'm still interested, but it's pretty damn unlikely that I'll be able to make it :(

So as I recall, there was talk of another carbine course in September. Is this pistol course gonna be melded to that in one big weekend?

Very interested. As stated previously, my schedule constantly changes and I have no vacation time till January - so I won't know if I can make a weekend course until Thursday of the same week.

Well I think I'm gonna reroute my trip, I wonder if anybody'd think I'd flipped if I went to L.A. via Omaha...

I'm interested. Of course, I'm really interested in an alumni carbine class this fall... *hint hint*

I have about six shooters for this class on standby. Let's come up with a date.
